UAW Local 862 Elections – Local 862 Elections of committeepersons and the “Run-Off” for Executive Board will be held May 29th from 4:30am thru May 31st at 4:30am, at both local union halls, and May 30th , from 1:30pm-5:30pm at the EHVC plant (please vote at your respective hall). Please refer to the “Election Notice” that was distributed throughout the plants for nominated members and positions. If you do not have proper identification, you will not be permitted to vote.
Jobs and resources fair – Congressman John Yarmuth is inviting all job seekers to his Annual Jobs and Resources Fair on Tuesday, June 3, 2014 from 4:00pm-7:00pm at the Louisville Slugger Field, 401 E. Main Street, Louisville, KY 40202. Job seekers can meet with more than 50 businesses currently hiring. To register go to www.yarmuth.house.gov or call 502-582-5129.
Priscilla’s Place Benefit Ride – Priscilla’s Place is hosting a Benefit Ride on Saturday, May 31, 2014. The ride will begin at the Bikers for Christ Rescue Shop in Hillview, KY located at 211B Arnold Drive, Hillview, KY 40165. Registration is 10:00-11:00am, kick-stands up at 11:00am. $10 individual/$15 couple, a bbq lunch for $8. Priscilla’s Place, a ministry of Teen Challenge of Kentucky, is a residential Christian recovery ministry for women battling drug and alcohol addiction and other life-controlling problems. All proceeds from the benefit ride go to Priscilla’s Place to help more women find freedom from addiction. For more information visit www.teenchallengeky.com.
Veteran Health Identification Card (VHIC) – The VHIC is for identification and check-in at VA appointments with added security of your personal information. In February 2014, VA began issuing the VHIC to newly enrolled veterans and enrolled veterans who were not previously issued the old veterans ID card. Beginning in May 2014, VA will automatically mail a VHIC to enrolled veterans who were issued the old cards. Because they are reissuing more than 6 million cards, they are asking for your patience during this time. Veterans who were issued the old cards do not need to return to their VA medical center to have a photo taken for the VHIC.
UAW/FORD 12TH Annual JDRF Awareness Ride & Poker Run – This event will be held Sunday, August 17, 2014. Ride day Registration begins at 8:00am. Registration will be held in front of the two story glass Administration Building at KTP. Motorcycles will be staged at Gate 2 Entrance. Ride leaves at 10:00am, rain or shine. End destination will be the KTP Union Hall at 2702 Chamberlain Lane. For more ride information visit www.fordktpcares.com.
