No doubt that Ford wants to keep the 2 Tier pay rates. They will offer a big signing bonus at 1st, then if members reject that (lets hope they do) Ford may offer something like this.
Roll the current 2 tier workers into full pay over a 24 month period. Then they can start another round of hiring for a new group of 2 Tier workers. The current cap of 2 tier is suppose to be 20% the next one could be 30% but I think 20% should still be the cap.
Also the current full pay workers would get a 3% raise all workers would get a $2000 signing bonus Some other benefits will be given back like X-mas bonus and cola
I think a contract like that could pass and I could vote for something like this, because it tells the new 2 tier workers that they could get full wage down the road just like the 1st group. I know allot of people want the 2 tier to end and never show it's ugly head again, and I'm one of them. But I also live in the real world and know Ford will fight like hell to keep it!. we don't want to draw lines in the sand because everyone will lose in that kind of showdown.
2012,2013,and 2014 Ford will have made $25,000,000,000 in profits!!! if we can't get these things back now with those kind of profits then the UAW needs to dissolve itself and let the Teamsters come in and try.
This has been your buddy Elmer just saying that's what I think..

I'm thinking more on the lines of buyouts and moving the lower tier up and raising the percentage to 35 or 40 .Then hire new hires.Theyre not going to get rid of 2 tier. And if I owned the Co I would want more lower tier workers ,and the union would agree .Maybe that's why they raised our dues so soon.?I will take a buy out this time ,if it's half way decent.Just my opinion tho.

Well let's hope that the 1st tier people will not just think about their selves but think about the union brother or sister working for half the pay.

Well let's hope that the 1st tier people will not just think about their selves but think about the union brother or sister working for half the pay. We knew this would happen. I have yet to meet more then a dozen people who admitted voting yes, from this plant, on the last contract. I still say our votes are never truly counted because the machines we vote on don't keep track of you and WHAT or WHO you voted for. Meaning if their was a power failure, accidental reset, or even just plain stacking votes how the UAW wants, there is no way to find out. I never wanted anyone doing the same work for half the pay. I never wanted any of these past two contracts to pass, but mysteriously they did. And as far as thinking of our selves? We knew what we had on our plate the day we hired in and took the job. So don't make this shit out to be our fault, because its not. Become an activist and gather all your 2 tier co-workers together and start calling/writing the IUAW weekly/daily and voice your displeasure. Strength in numbers is what you all need as well. Give Jimmy Settles a nice warm welcome to LAP on Weds.
