That sounds like a team thing (rule) I would try to get a straight answer from your team-leader .

Call bargaining committee, the team should not be able to take you off of your job for that, or they shouldnt be able to "vote" on that either. I would consider that harrassment...in paint they use the "team voted" thing to try and dictate every movement...Call bargaining Asap!

So is it the "team" trying to take you off the job, or management?

Can the team or management remove you?

No, but with our plant having LTS people if you are versatile and know other jobs management can utilize you for a period of time but you will still go back to your job. The only way they can remove you from your job is if you sign up for vacation relief then you can go back to your team but not your job.

Never heard of anybody being "removed" from an operation unless they fall off the DROT, or really, really mess stuff up.
What is their motivation for removing you? Some suck-ass want it?

Told cant train people and never know what day ill be out so they dont have someone on my job at start. But we use the flip out day alot and i call the absenteeism line hour and half before shift. I think its just a control thing by the team and someone wants my job. Others on team have been out 60 or more days in a row with no issues for there medical issues.

Don't give in, they cannot take you off your job. They will just have to get over it. Get the union involved if need be. What's the difference in you being extra and someone that is actually extra?

Call your TL or the supervisor too, if that is such a problem for them. THIS is why the absenteeism hotline is such BULLSHIT. The only justification for calling in is "to let them know so they can plan manpower". BULLSHIT.
Train people?
I agree with gator, don't give in.

There is separate number for fmla that should be at your plant. Not sure why your calling in the absent line. I use to be at ktp now I am at lap. Go to your bargainer there. Federal law trumps team rules.
