dates are tentative until you have been notified by the Company about that
day’s actual production.

a Mandatory overtime assignment as referenced in Volume 1, Appendix H, and
Article 10 (model launch).
Overtime Scheduling note: If you are not asked to work and show up to work,
you may be disciplined.
UAW NATIONAL FORD DEPARTMENT TOWN HALL MEETINGS: Representatives from the
International UAW, National Ford Department will be conducting informational
Question and Answer (Q & A) meetings for UAW/Ford members working at UAW Local
862’s KTP and LAP Plants. You are welcome to attend any meeting at either
union hall for your convenience. Dates and Times are as follows:
Kentucky Truck Plant Union Hall/2702 Chamberlain Lane: Sunday, November 9, 2014
- 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. or completion and Wednesday, November 12, 2014 - 2:00
p.m. – 8:00 p.m. or completion
Louisville Assembly Plant Union Hall/3000 Fern Valley Road: Monday, November 10,
2014 - 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. or completion and Tuesday, November 11, 2014 -
2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. or completion
PASSWORD RESETS FOR THE UAW862LAP PHONE APP: The “password reset” function
in the UAW862LAP phone app does not allow you to reset a forgotten password, it
simply allows you to change your password as long as you can log in with your
old one. If you have forgotten your password, it is generally your 6 or 7
digit global ID with no 0’s on the front; if that doesn’t work, please
e-mail mparke22@ford.com with your CDSID and global ID and ask to have it
reset. Or, if you don’t have the app and would like access, search your app
store for UAW862LAP and download it, then e-mail mparke22@ford.com with your
CDSID, global ID, Name, and e-mail address for login instructions.
PEDESTRIANS DO NOT HAVE THE RIGHT OF WAY INSIDE THE PLANT: Apparently there is
some confusion on right-of-way concerning pedestrians and PMHV’s when inside
the plant. The following is taken directly from the SPL on PMHV/Pedestrian
Safety on the LAP Homepage: If you have to cross an aisle to get to a work
station or to get to another pedestrian route, IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to look
for oncoming PMHV traffic before crossing. If a vehicle is nearby, IT IS YOUR
RESPONSIBILITY to make sure that the driver knows you are in the vicinity and
that you intend to cross. In most cases, the driver will usually acknowledge you
and may let you cross. In some cases however, the driver may be distracted and
not see you right away and continue to drive down the aisle past you. THE DRIVER
HAS THE RIGHT OF WAY and you must wait for the vehicle to pass. Powered material
handling vehicles are an integral part of the manufacturing process. While
working, they should be treated like other machinery and equipment and be
allowed to do their job. Unlike machines, there is no emergency stop button to
push. Stopping a forklift or a tow tractor depends upon the operator driving it.
If they don't see you in time, they cannot stop it in time. Being struck by a
forklift truck is like being hit by several F-150 trucks at the same time. A
typical 5000 lb. capacity forklift truck can weigh up to 9000 lbs. For this
reason the Company is reinforcing that PEDESTRIANS DO NOT HAVE THE RIGHT OF WAY
in shared aisles with material handling equipment.
CREDIT UNION IN THE CAFETERIA: Autotruck Financial Credit Union will be
available in the Main Café on Thursday, October 30, 2014 and Friday, October
31, 2014 from 11:30 AM-12:30 PM and 2:30 PM-6:00 PM each day for information
and sign-ups. Autotruck FCU offers financial services to all
FORD employees/families. They will be available to answer questions, add
services and introduce you to various financial opportunities. Anyone signing
up for a new service will be eligible to win a $25.00 Gift Card. NEW!!!!
Autotruck Financial Credit Union Members can now use the Fifth Third ATM Network
Surcharge Free!!!!
COAT AND CLOTHING DRIVES FOR VETERANS AND THE LESS FORTUNATE: Both LAP and KTP
will be holding their 2014 Winter Coat Drive from November 1st to November 30th.
Collection bins will be located inside selected entrances at both plants, and at
the union halls on Fern Valley Rd and Chamberlain Lane. At this time we will
only be collecting clothing items including and especially coats, jackets, hats
and gloves. Extra-large and children sizes are needed if possible, but
whatever you give will be greatly appreciated. Interlake Services and the
Wayside Christian Mission will distribute your donated items this year,
Interlake Services to homeless veterans and Wayside Christian Mission to other
less fortunate people here locally. This is an opportunity to clean out your
closets and donate these items to help others to stay warm this winter, and you
have no idea the impact this will make on other people’s lives. Please
remember - “One man’s trash is another man’s treasure”...
DENTIST WITH A DISCOUNT: If any members are looking for a dentist, Dr. Bob
Lavely is now in our BCBS network and is offering Ford employees 15% off any out
of pocket expenses. He is a Holistic dentist who provides a wide variety of
services including general dental care, orthodontics, oral surgery, periodontal
treatments, and safe mercury removal using all the current safety techniques.
His office is located at 7300 New Lagrange Rd Louisville, 40222. It’s located
behind Ken Towery’s right across from the Oxmoor Ford/Lincoln dealership. Call
502-426-4110 for an appointment.
STILL LOOKING FOR CONTRACT PROPOSALS: The clock is winding down! Proposals
for NATIONAL contract language will be turned in to the I-UAW leadership in
early December. Put it on paper, don’t just hope somebody else thinks of
it… now is the time to ask for a fix to that one thing that just really irks
you, or that really good idea that you wish we had in the contract. Proposal
forms are available in many areas of the plant or in the in-plant union office
upstairs at F-18, or ask your committeeperson for a form. They can be turned
in to your committeeperson, or placed directly in the drop box in the union
office. The best ideas come from people who work the floor every day!
JOINT CHAPLAINCY COMMITTEE 11th ANNUAL FELLOWSHIP DINNER: The UAW Local 862
Joint Chaplaincy Committee will hold their 11th annual Fellowship Dinner on
Saturday November 1, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00pm. It will be held at the LAP
Union Hall, 3000 Fern Valley Road. There will be live music, praise and
worship, and a catered dinner. Guest speakers will include UAW Local 862
Chaplaincy Retiree Chairperson Phyllis Stewart along with UAW Local 862
Chaplaincy Retiree member Rick L. Pardue of the Pardue Law Group PLLC. Ticket
cost is $9 for adults, and $6 for retirees and children ages 12 and under, and
tickets can be purchased at LAP from James Seay (502-741-5395), Phyllis Stewart
(502-345-5075), Jeff Hale (502-608-7335), and Suellen Warner (502-969-9136).
You can also purchase tickets at KTP from Tim Sanders (502-429-2075), and Amy
Brister (502-241-9491).
COACHES MEETING FOR UAW BASKETBALL LEAGUE: There will be a coaches meeting for
the 2014-2015 UAW Local 862 basketball season. The meeting will be held on
Sunday October 26, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. in the gym of the LAP Union Hall. Every
team that wants to participate needs to have a team member present to go over
the upcoming basketball season.
FRIENDS OF BILL W MEETING: Each Wednesday there will be a “Friends of Bill W
Big Book” meeting held at 4:30pm in the conference room of union office
located at F-19. We understand that schedules may vary based on line times and
such, so if you’re a little late, come on in! If you are interested or would
like more information please contact Craig Waldridge, ESSP Rep on B-crew at
364-3687 (or just show up).
SUICIDE PREVENTION AWARENESS: The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention
is at the forefront of research, education and prevention initiatives designed
to reduce loss of life from suicide. With more than 38,000 lives lost each year
in the U.S. and over one million worldwide, the importance of AFSP's mission has
never been greater, nor their work more urgent. Please join our UAW/Ford/Voith
team at the “Out of The Darkness Walk” in downtown Louisville at the Great
Lawn. The walk will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2014. Registration is
from 8:30-10:00am, and the walk starts at 10am. Our Team Coordinator is Wendy
Dunn. Please contact her at the main registration tent if you need any
assistance during the event!
Currently between UAW/Ford/Voith, we are the major sponsors for the walk
totaling $8,500.00. We hope that our team goal of 5,000.00 dollars would take
us up to 13,500.00. Please join us in raising awareness either through donating
or participating in the walk. Yes it’s a little bit extra to type, but
it’s worth it to visit
afsp.donordrive.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=donorDrive.team&teamID=65621 to
register for the walk, donate, or get more information.
