Adopt-A-Child At LAP - The Adopt-A-Child Party is this Friday, December 19th at the LAP Union Hall beginning at 5:00pm. This year we collected over $20,000 and sponsored over 100 kids. The party will begin with Mr. Magic entertaining the kids, then we will provide them with pizza, which will be donated by Bearno’s Pizza, and cookies donated by Subway. Then the kids will begin opening their gifts. The kids are coming from VOA (Volunteers Of America) and Camp Taylor.
Faurecia Gate Rally - We will continue to show our support to the workers at Faurecia by having a gate rally Thursday, December 18th 2:00pm – 3:15pm (day before election day), and Friday, December 19th 2:00pm – 3:15pm (election day). Each volunteer will receive a shirt for the rally. We are setting a goal of 100 members. We will meet at the Fern Valley Road Union Hall at 1:30pm to carpool from there to the plant for the gate rally. We will hold Union “YES” signs and pass out literature to the workers as they enter and leave the plant as we have done in previous gate rallies. Anyone who would like to drive directly to the plant can meet us at 4415 E. Indian Trail, Louisville, KY. On behalf of Region 8 we would like to say thank you for your continued support!

Quality Transparency Website - On Tuesday, December 9th the Quality Transparency Website went live displaying the quality results for group practices in the Greater Louisville area. The logo for the website is HealthShare. This is the first quality site launched that is available to physicians and consumers in our area combining data from Anthem BC/BC, Humana, Passport, and Coventry Cares. The website also contains hospital compare displaying ratings on local systems and education on the 14 measures listed on the site and where to find additional information. We have been reporting to physicians privately since 2006. We had 90% of the group practices in Greater Louisville opt-in to have their data displayed publicly. For the first year that is an outstanding involvement and shows the trust these physicians have for our organization. You can view the website at www.gohealthshare.com.
