Meritorious Medal of Life Saving Award – Please join our UAW Executive Board, the LAP UAW Leadership, and the LAP Plant Operating Committee Leadership in thanking Tina Finley, Chris Smith, and Joe Montgomery for their quick and decisive lifesaving actions as First Responders on January 7, 2015. These members went to the aid of our brother who suffered a heart attack in our LAP facility. If it were not for their actions we would not have him with us today. These members are to be remembered for their actions and I encourage all of our UAW membership and Ford Motor Company staff to thank them for their service, not only to our company and organization, but also to their fellow co-worker. I want to personally thank them for their heroism, dedication and their inspiration to us all as First Responders in this life saving act.

From the desk of Ray Curry, Director of Region 8 – Please look for communication in your mailbox this week in reference to Right to Work Legislation that has recently passed illegally in some of Kentucky’s county fiscal courts. Your local union will also be delivering a worker-to-worker leaflet within your plant locations explaining how Right to Work is not only bad for Kentucky but it will weaken our unions’ ability to collectively bargain. Director Curry is asking each member to take this very serious as we all are in the upcoming local and national negotiations.
