MEMBERSHIP MEETING 2/10: Membership meeting at LAP Union Hall, 12:00 and
6:00pm. The National Ford Department Staff will be at the Louisville Assembly
Plant to attend membership meetings and discuss the conversion of Entry Level
employees to New Traditional status.
UAW LOCAL 862 ELECTIONS: Local 862 run-off elections will be held February 5th
through February 7th, 2015. Polls will open at 4:30 a.m. Thursday, February 5,
2015 & polls will close at 8:00 a.m. Saturday, February 7, 2015 at the Fern
Valley Road Union Hall and the Chamberlain Lane Union Hall (please vote at your
respective hall). Please refer to the “Election Results Notice” that will
be distributed throughout the plants for nominated members and positions. If you
do not have proper identification, you will not be permitted to vote.
HOLIDAY WORLD DISCOUNT TICKETS: UAW Local 862 is now signed up for fun! Just log
into your own Holiday World site to buy tickets. This online benefit program
allows you to “print and go” so you have your ticket in hand when you get to
the Holiday World with no waiting in line to purchase tickets. To access your

UAW Store: Super sale for the week of February 9 thru the 14. All t shirts
10.00 and long sleeve will be 15.00. The store will be open Monday thru Friday

ENTRY LEVEL DENTAL INSURANCE: You are eligible for Dental insurance (Delta
Dental) and Eye exams (through SVS), beginning the first day of the month
following 3 years of service. The insurance starts automatically. Any

UAW LOCAL 862 VALENTINE’S DANCE: This event will be held Saturday, February
14th from 9:00pm – 1:00am at the LAP Union Hall located at 3000 Fern Valley
Road. The cost is $20 per person, which will include free beer, free setups,
BYOB. It is open to the public and the doors will open at 8:00pm. The Lyndsey
Henken Band will be performing. This is a fundraiser for the UAW “40 & Over”

OWEN C HAMMONDS SCHOLARSHIP: 2015 Owen C. Hammons Scholarship - UAW Local 862
initiated the Owen C. Hammons Scholarship Fund in 1988. Annually, Local 862
awards three, $2,000.00 scholarships to the sons, daughters, stepsons, or
stepdaughters of UAW Local 862 members. Applicants must be a high school senior
and must be accepted into a U.S. accredited college or university, community
college, technical or trade school at the time the award is issued. Awards
must be used for the 2015-2016 school year. To obtain application requirements,
and/or an application, contact the Financial Secretary, Scott Edwards, at the
Fern Valley Road Union Hall (502) 969-9136, or President Todd Dunn, at the
Chamberlain Lane Union Hall (241-9491)
UAW 862 BOWLING CLASSIC BENEFITTING JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT: This event will be held
Saturday February 28, 2015 starting at 6:00pm at the Fern Valley Strike and
Spare at 6220 Shepherdsville Rd. Individual Registration is $50 per person, fill
a lane with 5 bowlers for $200, 9-pin no-tap league style. Registration and
event information can be obtained by visiting 2015uaw862bowl.kintera.org. Junior
Achievement provides young people the knowledge and skills they need to own
their economic success, plan for their future, and make smart academic and
economic choices. JA programs empower students to make a connection between what
they learn in school and how it can be applied in the real world-enhancing the
relevance of their classroom learning and increasing their understanding of the
value of staying in school. Over 60,000 students served annually with the
programs.
UAW V-CAP Director’s Club Award: Communication is currently being mailed to
each eligible member participating in the VCAP Director’s Club Program
regarding how to go about picking up your VCAP apparel. If you have any
