From Todd Dunn:
Please review the legislation below on the repealing of the Common Construction Wage in Indiana. This is exactly the same issue that we are dealing with prevailing wage laws in Kentucky. Last week we were able to defeat this from coming out of committee to the House floor for a vote in Kentucky. This is going to happen in Indiana unless we can defeat it. Again this is tied to all of us as it will weaken wages in union and non-union sector, it will also weaken union strength. Ultimately we are all connected in the big picture. It does not matter what state you are from, this affects us all. Please help inform your neighbors and friends especially anyone you know in Indiana.
”Support your neighbors……..They are union people too”

Subject: ACTION ALERT: Common Construction Wage Under Attack
Yesterday, the Indiana House Employment, Labor, and Pensions Committee passed House Bill 1019 (Total Repeal of the Common Construction Wage) out of committee on a 8-4, partyline vote. Despite compelling testimony from contractors, construction users, small business owners, local elected officials and economists that repeal would take work from Indiana contractors and construction workers, and ultimately lower wages, the Republicans attacked local business owners and passed the bill.
House Bill 1019 will be eligible for amendments on Thursday and a final vote as soon as Monday. Please contact your State Representative today and urge them to oppose the repeal of the Common Construction Wage. To find out who your State Representative is and to contact them, please click here.
