I would like people to answer this question. Name some workplaces that gives you 2 breaks 30 minutes and 24 minutes with a 30 minute lunch. Then give you unlimited bathroom break as long as you want to be gone. Besides Ford. And nobody is aloud to complain about it.

Yea, Ford is the best place ever! I feel so great standing on my feet 10+ hours a day that I wish our union would sell more of our time back to the company to shorten them even more.
I also love how no one has ever been harassed for going to the bathroom ever! I mean on chili or Taco night I could be gone for up to 15 minutes while delivering obama voters to the porcelain god and I never get a 2nd look.
I also love how my supervisor is willing to sit me down and tell me how great of a job I'm doing when I may install one wrong part every 6 months or so and I have no problem signing his paper stating that I may get to go visit the friendly confines of our air conditioned labor department to speak with those friendly people if this happens again.
I feel so fucking lucky to have the Ghost of Henry Ford smiling down upon me and you that I think I will start getting to work early and leaving late.

I must admit when all the bathroom break shit starts it's usually a team leader that starts the crying to management..It always amazes me how a TL can gripe about somebody on THEIR TEAM?I mean 90% of the team goes to the bathroom then comes right back,so just do it an keep quiet..Why rat a person out..If you wanna be a rat why not just get a supervisor job..?

I don't know if bathroom breaks are a problem but I do think smoke breaks have become one.

Who really cares who gets upset about bathroom breaks! Let a QL get upset about bathroom breaks. Who cares! If they dont like it tell them go sign out. I go there to work that's it. Not there to make friends and worry about what people say and think. I dont concern myself at all if somebody doesnt like the way I do something or it takes me 10 minutes to take a shit. Some people treat work as more than just a place to go and make money. I dont understand all the petty he said she said stuff.

I love how people talk about their team. This is not a MOA plant you are not part of a team you are an individual who has a job assignment. Your team leader used to be called a Quality Leader and before that they were called upgrader, they are not your team leader. Now to the point, the company is not giving you anything. The break time you get is a union negotiated break of 5 mins per hour, that used to be 6 mins per hour.

Ok people some really don't understand.If someone has to go to the bathroom there really isn't a issue here let them go and come back no problem. But the ones who don't go on breaks or lunch then hit your TL for 4 breaks for 10-15 minutes each is screwing everyone.because the union will not let the TL treat them and different than everyone else or they will say they are being discriminated and being treated different. That what people don't understand or don't care.Yes it get frustrating when someone turns on the light then as soon as others see it on they turn there's on so they won't be at the back of line. Then I have to wait when I got to go because because I didn turn my light on till I needed to go to bathroom. Then it could be 30- 45 minute wait by the people who really are the problem. We don't have to wait unless the is a real repair. But mostly we go in line of the light. But it is hard waiting on people on the the 3rd or 4th bathroom break and it's my first. Because he try's not to go out of turn because the abusers are the one screaming the most.Even if you have a medical issue just go to the bathroom and come back for the others behind you. I think it's funny when they wait till about 25 minutes before the end of shift to turn the light on because they want to beat traffic and go on the TL then comes back with 15 minutes to go in the end of the shift.Really who wouldn't this bother. We all need to help with this issue because the company and union doesn't give a shit. Also only one post answered the original question. Which I do not think many workplaces let it happen.

Lets face it, its not pee breaks that cause the problems, its smoke breaks. Just hang in there, odds are cancer or emphysema will get them and you wont have to worry about them after that.

Here we go I'm really not trying to piss anyone off and I know some of you will call me names and ridicule me but I have been at Ford over 20 years I know Ford has screwed us on the C.O.A. which we thought was temporary.
It ticks me off. They are in business to make money. so they try to do what ever they can to make money. That,I thought,is where our "union" came in. Ford is not the best place ever but it is what you make it. We made the choice to work here and for over 20 years not once have I regretted it. Ford has broke my body down but in my thinking I knew what I was getting into when I signed up. I'm one of those who didn't go to college. I make more money and benefits here than anywhere else I would go. Seems to me most on here just complain. Not that Ford is so great without the union but we make a decent wage have decent benefits just got over $8000 bonus getting 1500 bonus in June. As to the bathroom breaks we are adults take some responsibility grow up act like an adult if you have to go ...go stop abusing the upgraders just because you feel like they aren't doing anything. Just cause you are bored or want to smoke or just want off the line is not a reason to go to the restroom. Your breaks are your restroom breaks. The upgrade is emergency only. I'm not an upgrader if that's what you think nor am I salary. Most here are know what I'm saying is true. But that doesn't matter cause it's not what you want to hear just grow up.. so let the ridicule begin

Never been in an area where bathroom breaks were a problem, it was smoke breaks that caused the most problems.
