UNION MEMBERSHIP MEETING: The next monthly membership meeting will be April
14th.
UPCOMING MANDATORY OVERTIME: Sunday 3/22/15 with a 6am start time.
UAW NEGOTIATED HOLIDAY: Good Friday is a UAW Negotiated Holiday and will be
celebrated on Friday, April 3, 2015. If Friday is a regular working day, all
employees will be paid for 10 hours of holiday. The employees who are on a
regular day off will receive 8 hours holiday pay. Please remember to fill out
the holiday conversion form for anyone who works Good Friday and wishes to
convert that day.
FORD EMPLOYEE DISCOUNT TIRE PROGRAM: Don’t forget your employee tire
discount at your local Ford dealerships (888-353-3251). This discount will
apply to active employee, retirees and their immediate family; offer does not
apply to “friends” of employees. You will be able to generate (1) one pin
number per quarter throughout the year. Employees of Ford Motor Company that
purchase a set of four (4) qualifying tires are eligible to receive discounts of
$20.00 or $15.00 per tire off the Manufacturer's Suggested List Price (MSLP).
Offer valid on dealer-installed retail purchases only. This discount is in
addition to any other discount, rebate, or offer a Dealer or Tire Manufacturer

ANNUAL UAW LOCAL 862 EASTER EGG HUNT: This year’s event will be held on Good
Friday, April 3, 2015 from 4:30pm-7:30pm at the Ron Gettelfinger (LAP) Union
Hall Gym at 3000 Fern Valley Road, Louisville, KY. (Rear gym doors will open at
4:30pm). The hunt will begin at 6:30pm and is for children ages six months to
ten years old.

ENTRY LEVEL DENTAL INSURANCE: You are eligible for Dental insurance (Delta

GRADE LANE TRAIN CROSSING: Please give yourself plenty of time to get to work,
as the past few weeks we have experienced some timing issues with the Grade Lane
Train Crossing. The goal is to have this crossing clear between 5-6 am and 5-6
pm. Please keep in mind that there is no way to have absolute control of when
the train actually arrives.
OWEN C HAMMONDS SCHOLARSHIP: 2015 Owen C. Hammons Scholarship - UAW Local 862
initiated the Owen C. Hammons Scholarship Fund in 1988. Annually, Local 862
awards three, $2,000.00 scholarships to the sons, daughters, stepsons, or
stepdaughters of UAW Local 862 members. Applicants must be a high school senior
and must be accepted into a U.S. accredited college or university, community
college, technical or trade school at the time the award is issued. Awards
must be used for the 2015-2016 school year. To obtain application requirements,
and/or an application, contact the Financial Secretary, Scott Edwards, at the

UAW V-CAP Director’s Club Award: Communication is currently being mailed to
each eligible member participating in the VCAP Director’s Club Program
regarding how to go about picking up your VCAP apparel. If you have any

PEDESTRIAN SAFETY: Please refrain from walking in areas that are restricted to
pedestrian traffic. There has been a heightened concern regarding the safety
of our employees when crossing past the end of the final line while it is

BEREAVEMENT NOTICE: Just an update regarding bereavement leaves: Labor
relations is now auditing each and every bereavement leave to ensure that it is
a qualifying bereavement per the National Agreement in Volume 1 through
Ancestry.com. If you have any questions regarding a bereavement leave, please

are as follows…
Bereavement Pay For Hourly Employees
5 days (40 hours) of bereavement for current spouse, parent, child, and
stepchild or in case of multiple deaths. 3 days (30 hours) given for all other

and on page 373 of Letters of Understandings.
