WEEKLY UPDATE March 27, 2015
ORDER BANK:

UNION MEMBERSHIP MEETING: The next monthly membership meeting will be April
14th.
UPCOMING MANDATORY OVERTIME: Sunday 3/29/15 with a 6am start time.
UAW NEGOTIATED HOLIDAY: Good Friday is a UAW Negotiated Holiday and will be
celebrated on Friday, April 3, 2015. If Friday is a regular working day, all
employees will be paid for 10 hours of holiday. The employees who are on a
regular day off will receive 8 hours holiday pay. Please remember to fill out
the holiday conversion form for anyone who works Good Friday and wishes to
convert that day.
WORKERS MEMORIAL DAY: The UAW Local 862 LAP Chaplaincy Committee is hosting a
vigil “Prayer at the Flagpole” for Worker’s Memorial Day. Please join us
at any time through these 2 hours in prayer and remembrance of our union
Brothers and Sisters who have died in the workplace. We will also be in prayer
for the future of our Plants, Leadership, and the emotional & spiritual welfare
of our Brothers and Sisters. Everyone is welcome to attend – hourly and
salary. Date: Wednesday, April 22nd Time: 4pm – 6pm Place: At the
Flagpole in front of the Administration Building.
KY DERBY FESTIVAL VOLUNTEERS: Volunteers are currently needed for upcoming
Derby events: Pegasus Parade Drivers, The Bed Race Team, and The Balloon
Team. Signups will open March 23rd at 9:00 am outside the store in the main
cafeteria and continue through March 31st. Please sign up if you are
interested in participating in some of the Derby Events.
KY DERBY FESTIVAL MERCHANDISE FOR SALE: Derby Merchandise will be for sale in
the main cafeteria on Thursday, March 26th from 4-6 pm and Friday, March 27th
from 11am-1pm. The artist of the Offical Kentucky Derby Festival will be also be
on site to sign posters.
FORD EMPLOYEE DISCOUNT TIRE PROGRAM: Don’t forget your employee tire
discount at your local Ford dealerships (888-353-3251). This discount will
apply to active employee, retirees and their immediate family; offer does not
apply to “friends” of employees. You will be able to generate (1) one pin
number per quarter throughout the year. Employees of Ford Motor Company that
purchase a set of four (4) qualifying tires are eligible to receive discounts of
$20.00 or $15.00 per tire off the Manufacturer's Suggested List Price (MSLP).
Offer valid on dealer-installed retail purchases only. This discount is in
addition to any other discount, rebate, or offer a Dealer or Tire Manufacturer
may already provide. In addition, most dealerships will match competitors
pricing on the day of service or reimburse the difference within 30 days of
service (check with dealership first). This program will run through March 31,
2015.
ANNUAL UAW LOCAL 862 EASTER EGG HUNT: This year’s event will be held on Good
Friday, April 3, 2015 from 4:30pm-7:30pm at the Ron Gettelfinger (LAP) Union
Hall Gym at 3000 Fern Valley Road, Louisville, KY. (Rear gym doors will open at
4:30pm). The hunt will begin at 6:30pm and is for children ages six months to
ten years old.
STATUS OF THE UNIFORM ALLOWANCE: The Arrow website is now online and working
properly. You can place your orders on the Arrow website at
www.arrowuniform.com/fordlocal862 . Please make sure you click the “Ford
Louisville Assembly Uniform Program” tab. It takes you to the exclusive LAP
employee site. For any and all questions and or concerns, please contact Arrow

WEIGHT WATCHERS: Weight Watchers course starting April 20th cost is $25 your
ETAP pays the rest there will be information meetings Monday March 30th and
Thursday April 2nd. You will need to sign up then and turn in your $25 check so
we can process your ETAP. If you are currently in Weight Watchers you will get
instruction in class on signing back up. For info call Kevin Bush 364-3659 or

MARTIAL ARTS CLASSES: Classes have started for the UAW members. They will be
held on Wednesdays at 5:30 at the LAP Union Hall. This is free of charge for the

OWEN C HAMMONDS SCHOLARSHIP: 2015 Owen C. Hammons Scholarship - UAW Local 862
initiated the Owen C. Hammons Scholarship Fund in 1988. Annually, Local 862
awards three, $2,000.00 scholarships to the sons, daughters, stepsons, or
stepdaughters of UAW Local 862 members. Applicants must be a high school senior
and must be accepted into a U.S. accredited college or university, community
college, technical or trade school at the time the award is issued. Awards
must be used for the 2015-2016 school year. To obtain application requirements,
and/or an application, contact the Financial Secretary, Scott Edwards, at the
Fern Valley Road Union Hall (502) 969-9136, or President Todd Dunn, at the
Chamberlain Lane Union Hall (241-9491).
