WEEKLY UPDATE April 24, 2015
ORDER BANK:
2015 Escape: 39,538 30 days’ supply
2015 MKC: 5,337 55 days’ supply
VACATION SHUTDOWN: Shutdown period has now been confirmed for the week of June
29th.
MANDATORY OVERTIME: Saturday, April 25th has been scheduled as a mandatory B
Crew OT day.
CONTRACT NEGOTIATION: The Local Contract talks have begun. The Local 862
Leadership: Barry Ford, Fred Willard, Jamie Burke, Mike Sondergeld, and Jeff
Bailey (Skilled Trades) have officially kicked off.
REBALANCE: LAP recently began its rebalance period. The rebalance period began
on April 13th and will continue through August 14th. Please ensure that your
Committeeperson is involved in any and all add/deletes sit-downs.
OPTIONAL LIFE INSURANCE OPEN ENROLLMENT: Open enrollment will run from April
13th thru May 22nd. You may enroll yourself, your spouse, and dependents by
going online at: www.unicare.com/ford or by calling 1-800-843-8184.
Representatives will be in the plant on Thursday, May 14th and Friday, May 15th
at the following times: 6:00 am, 9:00-9:30 am, 12:30 pm-6:00 pm, 9:00-9:30 pm,
and 12:30 am.
WEIGHT WATCHERS: Weight Watchers classes will begin the week of April 27th and
will be held every Monday and Thursday at 5 pm to accommodate each crew. The
session will run for 12 weeks and will cost $25. Please have the check made
out to Weight Watchers, as the remainder of the cost will be paid by ETAP as
long as you meet the requirements. Please call Kevin Bush on A Crew @
364-3659, Craig Waldridge on B Crew @ 364-3678, or Jeff Hale on C Crew @364-3687
to get signed up and registered.
BEREAVEMENT: The Company is investigating and checking into ALL bereavement
claims to verify that they are qualifying relatives. So far, there have been
40 cases that the company found to be false claims. Please check with family
members to make sure of any relationship that you may be unsure of. Also, speak
with your Committeeperson regarding eligibility and duration of the qualifying
bereavement leave.
ACH RETIRMENT AND SAVINGS PLAN TERMINATION: The ACH retirement and savings plan
was recently terminated on April 1st. Former ACH employees have three options
with these accounts: 1.) Rollover to the Tax-Efficient Savings Plan for Hourly
Employees (TESPHE), 2.) Rollover to an IRA or another tax-qualified plan, or 3.)
Withdraw all, or a portion, of your ACH Plan in cash. In order to facilitate
your election, eligible employees will need to contact Fidelity at
1-800-835-5097.
REGION 8 DIRECTOR’S CLUB VCAP AWARD: Your Region 8 Director’s Club Award
has arrived! You may pick up your award at your respective Union Hall, Monday
thru Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Remember, members donating $25.00 or
more per month belong to the Director’s Club Platinum Level. If you would
like to increase your donation, you could receive additional gifts, such as
jackets, coolers, watches, etc. To increase your VCAP contribution, please
stop by one of the union halls to pick up a VCAP contribution card. If you have
questions in regards to picking up your award, please contact the secretaries
either union hall. Thank you for your continued support in VCAP.
STATUS OF THE UNIFORM ALLOWANCE: The Arrow website is now online and working
properly. You can place your orders on the Arrow website at

HENRY COUNTY COUNTRY CLUB DISCOUNTS: Thanks to our Recreation Committee, we were
able to secure a 2 year deal that entails $12 rounds of golf during the week,
and after 2 pm on weekends and holidays. You can book a tee time up to one week
in advance, and the cost includes green fees and a cart. Your Local 862 Union
Card will need to be presented to the course the day of your tee time. 2200

UNION PLUS MORTGAGE PROGRAM: For UAW members looking for a new home, there are
lots of reasons to choose the Union Plus Mortgage Program. With special
hardship assistance built in, you can rest easy even when things get tough. The
program provides interest-free loans and grants to help UAW families make
mortgage payments; whether you're disabled, unemployed, locked out or on

PERSONAL RELIEF/RESTROOM BREAKS: The following process shall be set in place
as the regular practice here at the Louisville Assembly Plant. The Union and the
Company recognize that from time to time relief may be required outside of the
regular break or lunch rotation. Personal relief shouldbe provided within 20
minutes of proper notification. No employee shall have to choose between
discipline or embarrassing themselves on the assemblylines.
SOFTBALL COACHES MEETING: There will be a coaches meeting for the 2015
softball season on Sunday, April 26th at 4:00 pm at the LAP Union Hal Gym. You
must have a preliminary roster at the meeting, and all players must be UAW Local
862 members who are in good standing.
PEDESTRIAN SAFETY: Please remember to be vigilant when walking throughout the
plant. There are many pieces of moving equipment. Also, be sure to pay attention
to the markings around the plant that are there for your safety. You must have a
yellow vest on in order to cross the red markings on the floor. Safety is
everyone’s responsibility and we want everyone to go home safely to their
families!
