2015 KY Labor-Management Conference Board of Directors’ Scholarship Award
– The deadline for your child to submit a scholarship application is
approaching quickly. At this time there have been 0 applications submitted and
we would hate to see anyone miss out on the opportunity to receive an award.
There are up to $4000 in scholarship funds available to graduate, undergraduate
and/or technical program students for the fall 2015 school term. Applicants
are encouraged to apply soon as the applications must be postmarked no later
than June 12, 2015. Applications are available at both Local 862 union halls
and by visiting labor.ky.gov and then clicking on the Labor Management tab.
Kentucky Blood Center Blood Drive – The first half of the 1st Annual KY Blood
Center’s Blood Drive was a success. We had 20 lifesaving volunteers during our
May 5th Membership Meeting. You will still have another opportunity to donate at
the next Membership Meeting on June 9th at the LAP Union Hall. Call (502)
969-9136 to reserve your time slot.
Kings Island Tickets - Tickets will be sold from 11:00am until after the evening
Membership Meeting is over June 9th at the LAP Union Hall. They are Summer 2015
Tickets for $27 (regular admission is $62) and are good July 1-31. Parking $9.
Cash or credit only, no personal checks.
2015 Memorial Day Vigil – Adult and kid volunteers are needed to place 15,000
Veterans’ Grave Flags on the Great Lawn at Waterfront Park where Floyd Street
meets the Ohio River starting at noon on Saturday, May 23. For info contact

Women’s Summer bible Study– The UAW Local 862 Chaplaincy Committee is
inviting you to attend the “God Seeker” Bible Study on Tuesday Evenings
(June 2, 9,16,23,30 & July 7, 14, 21) beginning June 2nd at the LAP Union Hall
on Fern Valley Road from 6:00pm-8:00pm. The cost is $15.00 for a God Seeker
Bible Study Book. Sign up by May 26, 2015. Family and friends are welcome.
