Active Heroes Military Family COMMUNITY CENTER – There are free programs available to veterans and their family members. Some of those programs include acupuncture treatments June 9, 10:00am-2:00pm, yoga and guided meditation June 18, 10:00am-11:30am, and Cross-fit (beginning course) on June 20, 1:30pm-2:30pm. 16th Annual JDRF Golf Scramble - Hosted by UAW-Ford KTP employees. This event will be held at Covered Bridge Golf Club in Sellersburg, IN. Sunday, June 14th, 2015(2 Flights). There are only 10 foursomes left in the Afternoon Flight. Registration: 6:15am to 7:15am or 12:15pm to 1:15 pm, Shotgun Start: 7:30 am and 1:30 pm, Rain or Shine! The cost is $200 per person due upon registration in Salary Personnel. $100 tax deductible receipt will be given upon time of payment. First come-first serve basis to the first 288 paid entries. Lunch is 12:00pm for both flights. All proceeds benefit Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Registration forms can be picked up in Salary Personnel, the KTP Cares Store, or by visiting www.fordktpcares.com and printing one from the Event Calendar.
Labor Day Picnic and Car Show at the Zoo - Mark your calendars for the 16th Annual Labor Day at the Zoo Picnic and Car Show on September 7th. Ticket prices will remain $7 for advance sales and $9 at the gate the day of the event. They will be available at Local 862 Union Halls beginning June 9th, the in-plant union office at KTP (Mark Baker), or the LAP Cafeteria clothing store (Gayle Parker). Children two and under are free. Included in the ticket price is all day admission to the zoo, parking, food and drinks, car show and inflatable rides.
Veterans Committee Reminder –The Honor Flight transports our heroes to Washington, D.C. to visit and reflect at their memorials and to honor them for their sacrifices. Anyone wishing to attend the Honor Flight’s return of our American Heroes please meet your fellow members inside Louisville International Airport Main Lobby at 9:00pm this Saturday June 6th.

3rd annual Rev N’ roll Ride for autism – This event will be this Saturday, June 6th. The start and finish will be the AMVETS Post 61 at 9405 Smyrna Pkwy, Louisville, KY 40229. Registration is 9:30am-11:15am; kickstands up at 11:30am. $25 a driver/$15 a rider, cars welcome, door prizes, and silent auction. Pre-register at www.featoflouisville.org
Notice of nominations – Nominations will be taken at the next regular Membership Meeting, June 9th, for the unexpired term of KTP Nurses’ Chairperson and KTP Voith Unit Chairperson.
Reminder – Kings Island Tickets will be available at the June 9th Membership Meeting at LAP.
Congratulations Amanda Goins, Recording Secretary, who has been named Metro United Way’s James T. Reddington 2015 Labor Chairperson. Please support this year’s efforts in our participation within this labor crisis fund raiser program. Many of our members have benefitted since its inception.
