ABSENTEEISM PROCESS & REPORTING PROCEDURE
REPORTING YOUR ABSENCE
Employees have the responsibility to report to work and be on time. The company,
however, recognizes that there may be occasions when it will be necessary for
employees to be absent or tardy. On these occasions, employees are required to
notify the Company utilizing the steps outlined below:
• Whenever possible, request permission in advance to be absent or tardy.
(Personal leave hours are specifically provided for this purpose.)
• If you are unable to provide advance notice, you must call in before the
start of the Crew/Shift and report your absence or tardiness. The Plant
maintains specific call-in telephone lines for this purpose. The telephone
number is 1 (866) 893-0576 and this system will automatically record your
call-in with confirmation number (keep this number for verification). You will
be required to provide your Social Security number and Ford seniority date (not
plant) at the time of the call. You must call each day you are absent this
includes Family Medical Leaves.
• Both parties mutually agree to pursue new technologies in the future for
reporting absences, including phone applications, E-mail etc.
• If you are absent for three (3) or more consecutive days as a result of
illness, you must call 1-877-HRLY-MLA (1-877-475-9652), and request a
Conditional Medical Leave.
DISCIPLINARY PROCESS - All hearings where a 4600 form is issued will be
administered within two weeks of an alleged incident, excluding days of absence
for any reason. The Company will notify the Union if additional time is needed
due to extenuating circumstances (lengthy investigation). It is not the
Companies intent to frivolously penalize employees. Discipline is intended to be
corrective rather than punitive in nature.
