13th Annual JDRF Awareness Ride & Poker run – This is a UAW Ford sponsored event that will be held Saturday, August 15, 2015 (rain date Sunday August 16). Ride day registration begins at 8:00am and will be held in front of the two story glass admin building at KTP, 3001 Chamberlain Lane. The ride leaves at 10:00am. There will be a special $250 drawing for pre-registrations received by August 1st. The end destination will be the KTP Union Hall at 2702 Chamberlain Lane. 2015 Kentuckiana Heart Walk – On Saturday September 19, 2015 from 8:30am-12:00pm at Waterfront Park’s Great Lawn you can help the American Heart Association get America walking by supporting the 2015 Kentuckiana Heart Walk. As the signature fundraising event for the American Heart Association, the Heart Walk promotes physical activity and heart-healthy living in a fun family environment. This event will help raise funds to fight against this country's No. 1 and No. 5 killers - heart disease and stroke. Join us - the life you save could be your own. Labor Day Picnic and Car Show at the Zoo - Mark your calendars for the 16th Annual Labor Day at the Zoo Picnic and Car Show on September 7th. Ticket prices will remain $7 for advance sales and $9 at the gate the day of the event. Tickets are available at Local 862 Union Halls, the in-plant union office at KTP (Mark Baker, 429-2291), or the LAP Cafeteria (Gayle Parker, 418-1990). Children two and under are free. Included in the ticket price is all day admission to the zoo, parking, food and drinks, car show and inflatable rides.
highlands hardware – They are located at 2202 Dundee Road, Louisville, KY 40205. There has been a hardware store at that location since 1918. The owners are retired union carpenters that employ retired tradespersons, as well as college students from Bellarmine University. It is the go to place for both homeowners and small contractors. They are open Mon-Fri 8:30-5:00 and Saturday 8:30-4:00. Visit them at www.highlandshardware.com.

Nominations Results – Bonnie Ross, KTP Nurses’ Chairperson, and Jordan Linville, KTP Voith Unit Chairperson, both won their unexpired term positions by acclamation at the June 9th Membership Meeting. Congratulations to both of them.
Active Heroes Military Family COMMUNITY CENTER – There are free programs available to veterans and their family members. Some of those programs include yoga and guided meditation June 18, 10:00am-11:30am, Cross-fit (beginning course) on June 20, 1:30pm-2:30pm, and a self-defense class June 27, 3:00pm-5:00pm.
