WEEKLY UPDATE June 12,2015
ORDER BANK:

VACATION SHUTDOWN: The Vacation Shutdown period has been confirmed and will be
the week of June 29th.
WORK OR RETIRE CLASSES: Work or Retire workshop will be held June 22nd -24th
at 3:00 to 5:30 and 5:30 to 8:00 in conference room B upstairs in the admin
building. It is ONE 2 1/2 hour workshop we are having multiple times to
accommodate all crews. Registration will be June 8th and 9th in the Main Café
and June 10th in the Paint Café at 12:00 lunch breaks both AM and PM . You need
to attend registration to sign your voucher to access your ETAP to pay for your
class so there will be no cost to you. If you cannot attend registration contact
an ESSP rep to set up a time to get your voucher signed. Spouses are allowed
to attend the workshop along with you. The deadline for signing up is Monday
June 14th
REBALANCE: LAP’s rebalance period is now underway. The rebalance period
began on April 13th and will continue through August 14th. All work moves will
begin on A Crew with an add/delete sit-down unless there is an agreement with
the Bargaining Committee to change the lead crew due to unavoidable issues
(medical, open job, etc). Please ensure that your District Committeeperson is
involved in any and all work move/add/delete sit-downs. Also, this is a good
time to keep communication with your counterparts on the other crews.
RAFFLE WINNER: Congratulations to Chuck Sorter. Chuck is the winner of the
recent raffle for the Rod and Reel Combination. Chuck is a B Crew employee and
works in the Paint Department.
C CREW OVERTIME ANNOUNCEMENT: The survey results have been calculated and the
outcome determined by the membership is to potentially work 11.0 hours on Sunday
nights and Monday nights in the case of a loss of production. The survey
results were 603 votes for Sunday nights and Monday nights vs. 251 votes for
Friday days and Saturday days. This potential change will go into effect
immediately for all production areas on Sunday nights and Monday nights only.
The Building Chairman and the Bargaining Committee were able to take these
results to the company and have the days changed per C Crew’s voice.
NASCAR SPRINT SERIES QUAKER STATE 400: We will have tickets available and for
sale for $60 each (regular price is $109) for the July 11th Quaker State 400.
The seats will be located in the Quaker State Tower and all proceeds will
benefit March of Dimes. The UAW store is located in the main cafeteria, and is
open as follows: A Crew—Tuesday thru Thursday at first break and lunch, B
Crew—Tuesday thru Thursday at first break and lunch, and C Crew –Friday at
first break and lunch.
Active Heroes Military Family COMMUNITY CENTER: There are free programs
available to veterans and their family members. Some of those programs include
acupuncture treatments June 9, 10:00am-2:00pm, yoga and guided meditation June
18, 10:00am-11:30am, and Cross-fit (beginning course) on June 20, 1:30pm-2:30pm.

ACH RETIRMENT AND SAVINGS PLAN TERMINATION: The ACH retirement and savings plan
was terminated on April 1st. Former ACH employees have three options with
these accounts: 1.) Rollover to the Tax-Efficient Savings Plan for Hourly
Employees (TESPHE), 2.) Rollover to an IRA or another tax-qualified plan, or 3.)
Withdraw all, or a portion, of your ACH Plan in cash. In order to facilitate
your election, eligible employees will need to contact Fidelity at
1-800-835-5097. Tuesday, June, 16, 2015 will be the last day that affected
employees will be able to make this selection.
UNION PLUS MORTGAGE PROGRAM: For UAW members looking for a new home, there are
lots of reasons to choose the Union Plus Mortgage Program. With special
hardship assistance built in, you can rest easy even when things get tough. The

ANOTHER DISCOUNT FOR COMEDY: UAW members at LAP and KTP can again get a
special discount to a night of comedy and laughter at the Laughing Derby
(formerly the Comedy Caravan). Once again the show will include comics that have
appeared on national TV networks including HBO, Show Time, BET, and Comedy
Central. This month’s show will be held Sunday June 14th.. Doors open at
7:00pm and the show starts at 8:00pm. The cost of the tickets are normally $15
in advance or $20 at the door, but advance sale tickets can be purchased by LAP
and KTP employees for a discount rate of 2 for $25 (DISCOUNT DOES NOT APPLY ON

Labor Day Picnic and Car Show at the Zoo: Mark your calendars for the 16th
Annual Labor Day at the Zoo Picnic and Car Show on September 7th. Ticket prices
will remain $7 for advance sales and $9 at the gate the day of the event. They
will be available at Local 862 Union Halls beginning June 9th, the in-plant
union office at KTP (Mark Baker), or the LAP Cafeteria clothing store (Gayle
Parker). Children two and under are free. Included in the ticket price is all
day admission to the zoo, parking, food and drinks, car show and inflatable
rides.
THINGS TO REMEMBER: As always, please check your DROTS daily, your paystubs
weekly, that your phone number and address are kept current, and ensure that
your passwords are updated regularly. This will help to ensure that your pay
is correct, that you don’t miss any opportunities to work possible OT, and
that you are able to login to the bidding system and other sites through the LAP
Homepage. Also, the company has been much more diligent in sending folks to
Labor Relations for Attendance issues.
Requirements for a Medical Leave of Absence: Entry Level,
Legacy, Skilled Trades, and New Traditional Hourly
Employees
If you are absent three (3) or more days, due to a medical condition, you must
contact UNICARE to open a Medical Leave of Absence (MLA).
This requirement applies even if you are not eligible for Company-paid
disability due to your seniority.
Your MLA must be reported within five (5) days of your last date of work.
Medical evidence to support your MLA is due within 14 days of your last date of
work.
You are required to provide a Form 5166 or satisfactory proof of your need for
MLA to your local plant medical department for the following situations:
You are not eligible for Company-paid disability coverage;
You have exhausted your disability benefits;
You are receiving workers’ compensation benefit;
You are placed on No Work Available.
Reminder: Even if you fall under one of the four above situations, you MUST
contact UNICARE to open your medical leave of absence.
Important! Failure to follow this process could impact your employment status.
