My Committee person in stamping - Ryland Hoke - came back to the plant to take care of issues while he was on VACATION to handle individuals needs! I do not know of many people that would cut off their vacation to take care of others.(It would have been just as easy to let an alternate take care of it until he returned)
I may be the fist person to criticize decisions of the UAW. But, when an individual goes above and beyond to take care of his people I have to give props. Kudos Ryland! This is the type of thing everyone remembers at election time!

Thats is nice to hear that a committeeman would do that just wondering if he gets sww now. If not good for him.

Really? Would you come back from vacation if it was not mandatory??? I doubt that ANYONE would, even if you got SWW. It is easy for someone to rationalize any action away. The reality is it showed outstanding character on his part.

I'm at LAP and I've seen very few Union Reps that would return a text or phone call, much less go above and beyond the call of duty. An exception to the rule is C-Crew Committeeman DeWayne Sexton. The tire machine went down and he rolled his sleeves up and laid in there and got some to prevent the Company from early breaking us at 7:15. I could go on singing his praises but I think that speaks quite well of this Gentleman's character. At least a few haven't lost sight of what a UNION is all about.
