2015 UAW/FORD NATIONAL NEGOTIATIONS – The official start to the UAW/Ford National Negotiations will take place on July 23, 2015 at Cass Tech High School in Detroit Michigan. President Dennis Williams and Vice President Jimmy Settles will open the negotiations at 10:00am. All local union presidents, chairpersons, and bargaining units will be out of the plants attending the opening day of negotiations.
2015 LOUISVILLE ASSEMBLY PLANT GOLF SCRAMBLE– It’s that time of year again. Get your clubs out and help support the March of Dimes. The event has been moved to the Fall to enjoy the cooler weather and allow everyone more time to practice.
Date: Sunday September 20th, 2015
Time: 7:30am and 1:30pm
Location: Nevel Meade Golf Course Prospect, KY
Participation is limited so flights will fill up early. You can register now; entry deadline is Tuesday, September 1, 2015. For Additional Information contact Tami Hatfield (thatfie5@ford.com or 502-357-6141). Pick up an entry form from either Local 862 union halls. Your entry fee is 70% tax deductible. All contests and games are included with the price of the entry fee. Lunch 12:00pm-1:30pm. Each golfer will receive a scramble gift.
CINCINNATI REDS BASEBALL TRIP– If you would like to attend a Cincinnati Reds Baseball Game, for free, you can register at either of the Local 862 Union Halls. The game is September 27th 2015. Our Local 862 Recreation Committee has tickets, a bus, and refreshments available for the trip! The bus will leave the LAP Hall at 9:30am and the KTP Hall at 10:00am. Approximate return is 8:00pm. You can visit uaw862.org and print a registration form from the website. If more applications are received than tickets available, a “lottery draw” will occur. If you are selected you will receive a phone call by September 20, 2015.
16TH ANNUAL LABOR DAY PICNIC AT THE ZOO - Don’t forget the United Labor Day Picnic which will be held at the Louisville Zoo on Labor Day September the 7th. Tickets are available within the plants and at each local union hall and are $7.00 in advance and $9.00 purchased the day of the event at the zoo.

U of L Offers Free Grants to Veterans – The free grant program is called “VetStart” and is a 10-week program that meets one night (Thursday) a week from 6pm-9pm. Awardees receive one-on-one mentoring, startup training and limited funds for eligible startup expenses. Awardees will learn to hone their business ideas, develop strategy and most importantly build a network of others who can help them. Go to nucleusky.com/vetstart-veteran-application to apply.
