Retired Union Carpenters bought Highlands Hardware!
Highlands Hardware 2202 Dundee Road, Louisville, Kentucky 40205, is located in
the Highlands at the corner of Bardstown Road and Douglass Boulevard. There has
been a hardware store at this location since 1918. Steve Barger and Mike Fleitz,
retired Union Carpenters, bought the store in late 2014. They employ retired
tradespersons, as well as college students from Bellarmine University.
Highlands Hardware is the go-to place for both homeowners and small contractors,
providing tools, materials and services, including window, screen and door
repair, small engine repair, glass cutting, and key cutting. The store sells and
repairs lawnmowers, including electric and old-style reel push mowers. Highlands
Hardware is a full service PPG/Porter Paint distributor, carrying interior and
exterior paints, brushes, rollers, as well as deck cleaner and stains. A full
supply of lawn care products and environmentally-kind cleaning products are also
available. For those raising chickens in the city, the store stocks feed, bright
and warming lights, along with chicken wire.
Highlands Hardware is open Monday thru Friday 8:30-5:00 and Saturday 8:30-4:00.
