UAW LOCAL 862 BASS TOURNAMENT – The UAW Local 862 Recreation Committee is hosting a bass tournament at Barren River Lake (state ramp) on Sunday, October 11, 2015. The entry fee: $60.00 per boat. The time is 7:30am (or safe light) to 3:30pm, Louisville time. All entry fees (less expenses) to be returned as prize money. The entry deadline is October 2, 2015, no exceptions. Participants must be dues paying members of Local 862 in good standing. Entry forms, which contain all the information including rules and regulations, can be picked up at either Local 862 union hall.
7th Annual UAW/Ford JDRF Open Car Show & Motorcycle Show – This is a fun event, with great food, to support a great cause. It will be Sunday. Sept. 13th from 11am-5pm at Mike Linnig’s Restaurant on Cane Run Rd. Custom trophies for Top 3 in every class, classes to fit every car, 50/50, raffles, door prizes. 8th annual amvets patriot car & bike show – This event supports the Kentucky Homeless Veterans Fund. It will be held Saturday, September 5, 2015 from 12:00pm-5:00pm. Pre-registration deadline is August 31. Day of show registration is $15 and is 9:30am-2:00pm. Awards ceremony at 4:00pm. Food and drinks, fun and games. 9/11 Salute To Our Heroes Walkathon & Family Festival – This will be held at the KY National Guard Armory located at 2729 Crittenden Dr., Louisville, KY on Saturday, September 12th from 8:00am – 12:00pm. The walk begins at 9:00am from Armory to Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium and back. There will be police, fire, military vehicles, helicopters and mounted horse patrol on display. There will also be bouncies and face painting for kids, along with great food, music, and fun. Come walk and show your support for first responders and military heroes who keep our families safe.
