WEEKLY UPDATE August 21, 2015
ORDER BANK:

UPCOMING MANDATORY OVERTIME: A Crew will have a Mandatory Overtime Day scheduled
for Sunday, August 23rd with a 6 am start and working up to 10.5 hours. You will
be notified of any changes in the schedule by the Labor Relations Office.
C CREW VOLUNTARY OVERTIME OPPORTUNITY AND START TIME CHANGE: C Crew will be
working a voluntary OT opportunity on Labor Day, Monday September 7th with a 6
am start, and will work up to a 10.5 schedule for the shift. The start time on
Sunday, September 6th will be changed to a 6 am start to allow for the earlier
Labor Day start and also to allow employees to have a longer weekend.
UPCOMING MEMBERSHIP MEETING: The next membership meeting will be held on
Tuesday, September 8th at the LAP Union Hall at 12:00 pm and 6:00 pm. Please
make every effort to attend one of these meetings.
SKILLED TRADES MEETING: There will be a Skilled Trades Meeting held on September
25th and 26th at 6:00 am and 7:00 am. The meeting will be held at the LAP
Union Hall in the small hall. This should allow everyone interested, the
ability to do so. Skilled Trades, please make every effort to attend one of
the four meetings.
WAGE WORKS REMINDER: Reminder to all Entry Level employees regarding WageWorks
Health Care cards: Please keep in mind that you must use the remaining balance
on your 2015 card by December 31st, 2015. Any remaining balance will not
carry-over to 2016 although your card will be reset with a new balance for
2016. You must submit claims for services provided in 2015 by March 31, 2016.
4TH ANNUAL HERO REWARD EVENT: The 4TH annual Hero Reward Event will take place
on Saturday, September 5th at the cabin located at 873 Walnut Valley Rd,
Corydon, IN 47112. The event will begin at 2 pm and run until dark with a meal
at 5pm. All UAW Local 862 Members that wish to attend the event will need to
contact Rodney Bruce at 812-267-4555 if you are interested in attending. This
will be a family friendly event and there will be planned activities for all
ages.
BACK TO SCHOOL: Once again, it’s time for back to school, and this can be a
big transition for the children of our UAW members. That, along with other
life issues can prove to be overwhelming. If and when you find you or your
children in this situation, please contact the ESSP rep on your crew. They can
try to help link your children with the right resources to get them the help

DISCOUNTED ZOO TICKETS: We have received approximately 100 Admission Tickets
for the Louisville Zoo. These Admission Tickets are for sale for $10 each and
are good thru December 31, 2015. If you are interested, please contact Gayle
Parker at 502-418-1990 or go to the UAW Store located in the Main Cafeteria.
Remember, there are a limited number of tickets, so if you are interested,
please don’t let this offer pass by.
UAW LOCAL 862 ANNUAL PICNIC: The annual UAW Local 862 Picnic will be held on
Sunday, September 20th from 11:00 am and will continue thru 5:00 pm. There
will be food, prize drawings, games, and much more. This event is a family
friendly event so please come out and join your UAW Brothers and Sisters for a
fun filled day.
2015 KENTUCKY STATE FAIR: The UAW and Ford Motor Company will once again be
participating in the KY State Fair. There will be a very large set up and
display in the North Wing. The booth will be complete with our own Visual
Factory Simulation, many large displays showing UAW/Ford history, and will be a
great way to show our community what we really do. Please stop by and check
out this very impressive joint UAW/KTP/LAP display.
NORTHWOOD UNIVERSITY: We are happy to announce that UAW-ETAP approved
Northwood University will continue offering accelerated Associate and Bachelor
degree programs onsite to Ford/UAW employees for the fast approaching fall 2015
semester. Even better, they are still providing over a 35% discount off of
tuition to LAP & KTP Ford/UAW employees and this discount applies to all classes
including online, classes at either KY plant, or at the Northwood campus here in
Louisville, KY. Most classes are 8 weeks long and onsite courses meet for only 3
hours a week! Your current ETAP benefit will cover up to 18 college credit
hours per year at Northwood with no cost to you! The fall session begins soon
and classes are filling up! Get started now to utilize your UAW negotiated

LAP ANNUAL GOLF SCRAMBLE: The Louisville Assembly Plant will once again host its
annual Golf Scramble on September 20th at the Nevel Meade Golf Course located in
Prospect, KY. There will be two flights, 7:30 am and 1:30 pm. The morning
flight has now filled up but there is still room in the afternoon flight. We
are still looking for hole sponsorships if you know of anyone interested.
There will be various contests and food, and as always, will be an enjoyable
day.
WEIGHT WATCHERS: On Monday, August 3rd, LAP began a new round of Weight
Watchers. We would like to welcome our new sign ups. We will still be
meeting every Monday in the SOS Conference room in the Administration
Building. Due to the drop off in numbers, we will unfortunately not be
offering a Thursday class as we did in the past. If you have already signed up
and can’t make the meeting on any given Monday, you can go directly to a
Weight Watchers facility convenient to you.
STATUS OF THE UNIFORM ALLOWANCE: The deadline for using your locally
negotiated Uniform Voucher is quickly approaching. The deadline to place this
order will be September 14, 2015. We still have numerous members who have not
yet taken advantage of this program, or have not spent the allotted money, and
we don’t want you to miss out on this opportunity that was fought for during

Labor Day Picnic and Car Show at the Zoo: Mark your calendars for the 16th
Annual Labor Day at the Zoo Picnic and Car Show on September 7th. Ticket prices
will remain $7 for advance sales and $9 at the gate the day of the event. They
will be available at each of the Local 862 Union Halls beginning June 9th, the
in-plant union office at KTP (Mark Baker), or the LAP Cafeteria clothing store
(Gayle Parker). Children two and under are free. Included in the ticket price
is all day admission to the zoo, parking, food and drinks, car show and
inflatable rides.
