.....the company out during contract negotiations.
You know, since they took away a holidsy, and added a weeks worth of uncompensated work by taking away our break time.
So yeah, lets all show our solidarity by working a holiday before they take it away.
(I'm just mad cuz I can't come in)

I just consider the triple time as a form of strike assistance.

I see both sides, but it only helps them ..Especially when they lost production..But double time and holiday pay (or bank) the day are nice as well.

If we don't work it, we will just have to work an extra Saturday. I will take the double time and another day off when I want it.

This is definitely a different case than working through lunch, especially considering this is a contract year. It helps us in that we can bank more money in case of a strike, and bank the holiday for an extra personal day, which you can use to AWOL on these fuckers sometime, or at the very least have available if you have an emergency. Working a holiday at double time and getting an extra personal day is a win for us. Working through lunch is chump change and not really a win for anyone except the area bosses, who will make sure to fuck you later for doing it for them.

I would never work Labor Day. But if others want to, have at it. If u want to sell ur lunch, have at it. I see both sides of it but if u wanna lay in there and get the money do it. Why not?

The only way to make up the loss is to work Labor Day AND an additional Saturday (9/19)? Correct?

Labor day was set along time ago, like January or so. If we have frames, we will be working the 12th as well.

Don't rely on this board for info . Read the hand out. The freeze isn't just bids if I read it right . Just like all the supposed Saturday info on here. It's not all correct....... This is after all the rumor mill, not the official info outlet lol

I thought the KTP Chairman was a "Go In & Get After It" fighter type of guy! But after listening to that nervous jitter in his voice maybe he's a lot weaker & more selfish than I thought! These guys & their bargaining associates need to drive the nail on a very acceptable negotiated contract & stop noddin' their heads up n' down and get used to shakin' their heads repeatedly from left to right. There is a massive gap between the Competive Global Market & the Extreme Wealth that the company is experiencing right now. The Time Is Now!..........and the bargaining negotiators need to do their jobs & bring back a very good yet fair contract, Period!

Two of these clowns say we made gains in 2011. What did we get back? The way I remember it , in 2009 we suspended certain things. These were our concessions. That's how it was sold to us. They were suspended for the rest of the contract and in 2011 they would be back on the table. That's all well and good except what happened was in 2011 all that language that had been suspended was permanently wiped out. Am I wrong on this? Does anyone remember getting anything at all back in 2011????i sure don't not to mention wasn't 2011 the year we got the super fuckin with the two tier? Wtf???

Another fine example of how the union waste our dues. Did our dues raise go to pay for this?
