Election Notice (KTP) – In accordance with the UAW International Constitution & Bylaws of UAW Local 862, nominations were taken at the regular Membership Meeting, at the KTP Union Hall on October 13, 2015 for the unexpired terms of:
· KTP Bargaining Committeeperson (1 to be elected)
· KTP Unassigned Production District Committeeperson (10 to be elected)
Candidates must accept nominations by close of business on Fri., October 16, 2015 at 3:00pm (EST).
elECTIONS – Polls open Thursday, October 29th at 5:00am and close Friday, October 30th at 7:30pm at the Chamberlain Lane Union Hall.
Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk -The Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk will be October 25, 2015 at 1:00pm at Waterfront Park (129 E. River Road). Making Strides Against Breast Cancer is a celebration of survivorship, an occasion to express hope and our shared determination to make this breast cancer's last century. You can help finish the fight against breast cancer by raising funds for and walking with American Cancer Society Making Strides of Louisville. Join more than one million people each year who are helping to end breast cancer. Join at www.makingstrideswalk.org.
Scare the Life Out of cancer Halloween bash – The Local 862 Joint Community Service Committees are hosting an adult Halloween Costume Party on October 31st from 8pm-12am at the Local 862 Union Hall at 3000 Fern Valley Rd. the cost is $5.00 per person (advance or at the door). BYOB. There will be door prizes, a music DJ, 50/50 drawing. Costumes are not required but are encouraged. Proceeds from this event will go to Making Strides Against Breast Cancer. Tickets can be purchase at either UAW Local 862 Union Hall.
Out of the darkness suicide prevention & awareness walk - When you walk in the Out of the Darkness Walks, you join the effort with hundreds of thousands of people to raise awareness and funds that allow AFSP to invest in new research, create educational programs, advocate for public policy, and support survivors of suicide loss. As the leader in the fight against suicide, and thanks to walkers like you from cities across the country, AFSP has been able to set a goal to reduce the annual suicide rate 20% by 2025. This year’s walk is Saturday, November 7 at Waterfront Park (South Great Lawn). Check in/registration time is the same day at 8:30am. Walk begins at 10:00am and ends at 12:00pm. You can register online at www.afsp.donordrive.com. Make the difference, help prevent suicide.

CLUW Semi-Annual Yard Sale – Tables are still available for this Saturday, October 17th from 9:00am-1:00pm at the Fern Valley Rd Union Hall. Set-ups begin at 8:00am. The cost is $10.00 per table rental for active employees and $5.00 for UAW retirees. You can pay at the door.
