Mexico has produced around 2.4 million vehicles for Ford in the last 45 years, I was told by a very knowledgeable union rep today. This guy came from another plant, was very high in his local before & has started working his way up here. Nothing like our good Ole boys. Told me Mexico doesn't have the productivity to take much from us, that Ford uses them as a threat knowing most of us don't know what goes on down there.

Don't worry. North America Ford is like #1 in the Harbour report. Most efficient making the most vehicles with the least amount of People. By the way Ky has some of the cheapest industrial Electricity in the country. You wonder why the largest Truck plant in North America is across town. KTP. That's why.

You can't fix paranoid I believe many of our friends from Atlanta came to KTP or other plants after they closed I worked with them. Some are evan at LAP. Many stayed in Atlanta also by CHOICE when they took the $$. Hummmm. Pay attention.

I came up from Atl in 2006 and you can bet the Taurus/500 BS was and still is a slap in our faces. FoMoCo can and will move your product and shut you plant down anytime they want to. Being #1 in quality, productivity, and safety didn't mean a damn thing when it came time to shut our plant down. Sucks but it's the reality of our job

Justme3, I don't disagree.. Back in 2003 our Plant manager at KTP took a Map and drew a Circle on it .. Louisville was the Southern most part of the Circle.. He said if your not in this circle you will be shut down.. Kansas City just made it also.. Its about $$$$ (Transportation Cost, Networking with Suppliers and Distribution of parts and common parts.. Just in time delivery..) The OLD School #1 in Quality, Production Numbers and Safety.. They don't care anymore... Virginia and the F150 was also shut down and they were # 1 in Quality.. Twin Cities stopped making there great product, Both were To far away... Just what we were told and it has panned out...

By the way Ky has some of the cheapest industrial Electricity in the country. You wonder why the largest Truck plant in North America is across town. KTP. That's why. I received this letter from Meade County Electric, Hopefully we stay the cheapest in the country. November 12, 2015 Dear Members, Last year, you helped Meade County RECC and its statewide and National affiliates tell the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) about your concerns over their proposed “Clean Power Plan”. Over one million Americans did the same at Action.coop and TellEPA.com because EPA’s actions jeopardize rural America’s supply of safe, affordable, and reliable electricity. EPA addressed a few concerns in its final rule. But the rule still has serious flaws. It is outside of EPA’s authority. It will force electric co-ops to close power plants that consumers should be able to rely on for decades to come. Most importantly, without these plants, many co-op members will face higher energy bills. Even though the rule is final, Meade County RECC and other electric co-ops aren’t giving up. Instead, we are filing suit, asking a federal court to turn back this harmful rule. For more information about our fight and how to stay involved visit www.action.coop. Thank you, Marty Signature Marty Littrel President/CEO

I'll never understand why anyone could believe their own selfish needs outweigh the needs of the masses. The filthy power plants that are currently operating are causing untold numbers of lung disease and cancer among our family, friends and neighbors! But somehow people believe cheap electricity is more important! It's really pretty sad when we care more about our finances than the good of our fellow human beings!!! The CEO's of the power plants only have their huge salaries in mind when fighting the EPA, they could care less about any of us or our health!!!

If you are so upset, and want to take a stand, then convert your home to solar and wind. Put your money where your mouth is. Or pipe down and understand that until something else can produce power as cheap and, getting cleaner, coal, you know, KY coal, that hard working men and women of the commonwealth labor to produce, then you are complicit by paying your bill. So go ahead, take that stand, get your self righteous ass some candles, chop some wood, build that windmill, and put up those solar panels. Gosh, I hope its not overcast, calm, and bitterly cold anytime soon.
