CONTRACT RATIFICATION VOTE RESULTS - Thank you to all those who voted on Tuesday. The member turnout was approximately 70 percent; the strongest I have seen in 20 years. The total combined results for both plants (Production and Skilled Trades) on the National Contract vote were 67% Against, and 33% For. The combined results (Production and Skilled Trades) for the KTP Local Contract vote were 63% Against and 37% For. KTP Nurses voted 63% For and 37% Against, and LAP Nurses voted 75% Against, 25% For.
MEETING IN DETROIT - Today the Presidents and Building Chairpersons of all locals within the UAW National Ford Department were notified to be in Detroit, MI for a President and Chairpersons meeting scheduled for Tuesday, November 24th. This request was sent out via Jimmy Settles, Vice President of the National Ford Department.
35TH ANNUAL LIGHT UP LOUISVILLE – This spectacular event will get underway Nov. 27 at 11:00am, the day after Thanksgiving, with the usual dazzling array of lights, lights and more lights. The event will again kick off "Holiday in the City" in Downtown Louisville. The holiday-time activities across downtown will include a Santa’s Workshop, Bourbon Village, Lots of Lights Parade, Photos with Santa, and other celebrations along four blocks of Fourth Street from the Galt House to 4th Street Live. The evening-after Thanksgiving event will include the arrival of Santa Claus, and tens of thousands of downtown holiday lights— with the action centered on a main stage at Fourth and Main.
31ST ANNUAL CHRISTMAS BOWLING TOURNAMENT - This event will be held at Strikes and Spares, located at 911 Phillips Lane (502-968-2695). The Team Event is Monday December 28th at 9:30am and the Singles & Doubles is Tuesday December 29th at 9:30am. Only $24.00 per event per person so get your teams together. Also, an “Actual All Events” will be available for $3.00 each. Entry forms may be picked up at either Union Hall, in the “in-plant Union Offices” or through your committeepersons. Please submit completed entry forms and cash, or a money order to UAW Local 862, to the Financial Secretary, Scott Edwards, at the Ron Gettelfinger Union Hall, 3000 Fern Valley Road.
UAW VETERANS AND COMMUNITY SERVICES WINTER COAT DRIVE – From now thru December 11, 2015 collection bins will be located inside selected entrances at both plants and the union halls on Fern Valley Rd and Chamberlain Lane. We will only collect clothing items (i.e. coats, jackets, hats, and gloves). These warm items will be donated to Wayside Mission.
