From what I've figured B Crew has already worked 6 mandatory Saturdays. Now the company wants to add 2 more Saturdays, Dec 5 and tentatively Dec 19. Our glorious union is saying only 4 of the forced Sat. shifts were mandatory & the other two were voluntary. I was never given the option of not working these Saturdays & nobody I've talked to remembers being asked to work the Sat's. So far our glorious Union is siding with Ford & forcing us to work a 7th & possibly 8th mandatory Sat.. Our contract plainly states no more than 6 mandatory Saturdays. I suppose when the new contract begins we'll end up working 15 Sat's. instead of 9. BULLSHIT UAW!!!!
Whoops.....myself and many other brothers & sisters jumped the gun on this one. A union official explained what they came up and it happened to be correct. We've only worked 5 mandatory Saturdays & we owe Ford 1 more Saturday until the new contract kicks in. Then we'll have something either bitch about or be happy about, Ford will have 9 Super Saturdays to do with as they please.

The union is not going to pass up on working overtime ever. They know it won't last forever.

Be happy we are getting the overtime. It could be the other way around.

New contract language states 7 day notice of mandatory overtime must be given.

We are about to have massive turnover in our leadership and committee people. too many people will run and all the locals will vote for who they know and then you can count on majority not voting so its a long shot to see anyone get replaced.
