If I'm hearing this right, if you call in at 5:01or later either to say your going to be late or your not coming in, your getting a R&W for your 1st time? And it stays on your record for 18 months? That's just insane.

So make sure you call at 4:59 Lol. They are still trying to figure so much stuff out, they still haven't made it clear who is eligible for the, early retirement buyouts & even the ones that are for sure eligible still have no idea what the date is or when then can. I really think they thought we were going to strike & were completely unprepared, one union rep tells you one thing & the next one says just the opposite. Of course that's not new.

As a rule, the buyouts are retroactive back to the first day of the contract which is also retro back to when the old contract expired. I'm sure they will be included they just haven't released the specifics yet i.e. when they will get their money. Some folks aren't going to wait until they have their money in hand.

Best bet is to call in everyday. Just in case something happens on the way. There is no punishment for calling in, but showing up anyway.

That's what I did today. With the snow covering the roads, I went ahead and called in just in case I couldn't make it. Hope they got tons of calls.

If this turns into a escalating discipline (time off) issue. Then we all need to call in everyday stating we will all be late. Once it becomes a problem of not actually knowing manpower issues they will make a change.
