IMO, How does Ford get away with allowing so many employees to work drunk on their asses and knowingly let them leave work and drive drunk? How many innocent people have to die or get seriously injured before something is done to stop this craziness? Frankly I'm sick and tired of working around the loud mouth drunks and smelling their nasty ass alcohol! Maybe it's time for the LMPD to set up roadblocks outside LAP at quiting time! I'd like to add that having to deal with half my team being drunk most nights and seeing them drunk on their ass as they're walking out the door & getting in their cars for their drive home makes me worry about them and the innocent people that have to share the road with them. I would never talk to anyone in management or the union about this. I doubt the union would do anything more than tell me to mind my own business. I've been at LAP for 16 years and have never told management anything they could use to hurt my brothers & sisters, in fact I've never ratted on anybody to management for any reason. I realize this has been going on for many years at LAP but in the past most people used a little discretion when they drank at work. I'm just frustrated and needed to voice my opinion & fears. Sorry if I struck a few nerves. Please never forget the young lives that were lost on that terrible day on I 71 in Carrollton,KY on May 14 1988.

If you have a problem with such an employee call your committee person and let them handle it instead of reporting them to management. As much as you may detest such a person they are your union brother. They probably have a wife and/or children to support.
Regarding your statement: "How many innocent people have to die or get seriously injured before something is done to stop this craziness?" Just how many have died or been injured by drunks from our plant?
And your statement: Maybe it's time for the LMPD to set up roadblocks outside LAP at quiting time!
Isn't that profiling? LOL

Leave the drunks alone. When you've been there as long as them you'll need a drink too. As long as they are not adding work to you, it's none of your business.

Yup, mind your own. If you feel the need to say anything, talk to the union.

LOL I didn't mention a single word about reporting them to management. All I said is why does management allow this to go on. Profiling?!!! You've obviously never lost a family member or friend to a drunken driver! When you do you'll probably feel different about drunken drivers!

You assume they are drunk at work because they smell like alcohol, maybe they wear the same jacket every day to work and it smells like alcohol. You assume they are driving home if they are drunk...maybe they have a wife/gf that works here and drives them home, maybe they carpool. You assume no one hasnt lost anyone close to them because of a drunk driver...i have, 2 people as a matter of fact. Again...come to work, do your job, go home. Free advice & the best advice you will ever get. Anything else will cause your life here to be more miserable than you can imagine.

You've obviously never lost a family member or friend to a drunken driver! When you do you'll probably feel different about drunken drivers! The first word of my post is "IF" and no you didn't say specifically that you would go to management but we have all kinds of people on this forum and I just wanted to get the alternative out there of calling the union first. No I have not lost a family member to a drunk driver but I did have a marriage to fall apart due to alcoholism. I always did my best to make sure that my ex-spouse never drove drunk. If you lost a family member or friend to a drunk driver I am very sorry for your loss. And lastly, the profiling comment was followed by "LOL" which sometimes is used as an inference that the statement was satirical. My son in law is a career police officer who has to walk on eggs and these days has a bull's eye on his back too. If he conducts a roadblock and traffic gets backed up he is suppose to let a few people go straight through without stopping so as to alleviate the traffic. However, to avoid "profiling" accusations he has to decide on a specific number, for instance the number five, and let every fifth vehicle pass through without stopping instead of random vehicles. Otherwise it is grounds for a profiling lawsuit. So I guess what I consider to be a satirical statement is considered by you to be an insensitive statement. I'm a girl, you're a boy, we're different.

The drunks are one thing but now we have to keep an eye out for used needles, Wtfuck! I do think its time for something to change. This shit is getting a little ridiculous. Started with a couple of beers in the parking lot and now it's people shooting up. Time for the union and company to address the issue one way or another. Plant safety, quality and morale are all in jeopardy.

Sorry, I didn't catch the "LOL" part. I understand that our boys and girls in blue are forced to walk on eggs sometimes regarding sensitive issues. Seems like the one's that cry profiling are one's that are the most guilty.

Hell, I believe that management is more shit faced then the line workers. Look at the decisions they make daily. No sober, sane person could possibly do what they do.
