St. Patrick’s Parade - UAW/FORD is one of the sponsors for the St. Patrick’s
Parade this year. Everyone is invited to march in the parade. The parade is
Saturday, March 12th, at 3:00pm. UAW members and their families will be passing
out beads and candy to the crowd. If you are volunteering in the parade be in
the staging area at 1:30pm. Show up early. Find a parking place on a side
street then walk to staging area at the corner of Barret Ave. and E. Broadway.
Do not park in Mid City Mall, they will tow you.
Profit Sharing – Profit Sharing will be paid out to all eligible employees on
March 10, 2016. From now thru Wednesday February 17, 2016, you can choose how
you wish to receive your Profit Sharing via myfordbenefits.com or the NESC.
Everyone should have received a letter from UAW/Ford Benefits explaining the
specific options. If you have any questions you can call the NESC Hotline at
800-248-4444. If you would like your entire profit sharing payment in cash, no
selection is required.
Kentucky House Panel defeats bill dealing with Prevailing Wage – On February
4th a bill that would have eliminated the prevailing wage on public school
projects failed to pass a House Committee. The prevailing wage is the pay rate
for construction workers on public works projects and is set by the State Labor
Cabinet. It is the wage paid to the majority (more than 50 percent) of the
laborers or mechanics in the classification on similar projects in the area
during the period in question. In a room full of union workers, the House Labor
and Industry Committee voted down the bill 6-14. Thank you to all those who
turned out to support this very important issue.
Retirement Incentives – The time frame for the buyouts will be February 15
thru March 21, 2016. There will be an official bulletin from Labor Relations
with the details.
PROUD UNION HOME SIGNS– The Proud Union Home yard signs are still available at
both union halls. Your membership requested the initial printing and they will
be available on a first come first serve basis. Once we exhaust the initial
order we will solicit the membership for a second printing.
