JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT: The UAW and Ford are proud sponsors of Junior Achievement
through BizTown, Finance Park, and Job Shadows. There are several events and
opportunities coming up regarding JA. There will be an on-line auction to
benefit JA, and al proceeds will help to reach over 58,00 students with economic
and financial literacy programs. The on-line auction can be found by going to
www.biddingforgood.com/auction/auctionhome.action?vhost=jaky. Junior
Achievement is also in need of volunteers in several different areas.
Classroom Program Volunteers are needed to go to a K-12 classroom and lead five
to seven 45 minute sessions on Junior Achievement Topics. The time commitment
can be split with someone else if needed. JA in a Day is a one day option
where volunteers will teach a condensed version of the classroom program. This
will normally take place in an elementary school and will last up to 3 ½
hours. Capstone Programs are another opportunity that are one day options
where volunteers would go to the JA Building and assist students in JA BizTown
or JA Financial Park.
SAFETY REMINDER: The company has approached the Local Union regarding the
proper and improper use of safety glasses. There has been a corporate increase
in awareness regarding safety glasses. Please be aware that the company will
be taking an increased awareness of improper and lack of safety glasses inside
the plant. With this in mind, please be sure to wear your safety glasses
inside the plant unless you are in a designated area which does not require
safety glasses.
2nd ANNUAL UAW 862 BOWLING CLASSIC: This event will be held Saturday, March 19th
beginning at 6:00 PM at Executive Strike and Spare located at 911 Phillips
Lane. This event will benefit Junior Achievement, and individual registration
is $50 per person. Another option is to fill a lane with 5 Bowlers for only
$200. There will be a 9 pin NO TAP league style and bowler handicaps
determined by committee. Register either as a single or a team on or before
March 14th and you will be entered in the Grand Prize Drawing (A Weekend at
French Lick Resort). TO register online, go to

OPTIONAL LIFE AND ACCIDENT INSURANCE OPEN ENROLLMENT: The optional Life and
Accident Insurance will have its open enrollment for 2016 from March 14th thru
April 22nd. Sterling Insurance will have representatives in the plant at a
future date to answer any questions and assist participants in the enrollment
process. You can also enroll once the period opens by calling 1-800-843-8184
or by going online at www.unicare.com/ford. You may enroll yourself, your
spouse, and dependents. New enrollees may elect the first two levels of life
insurance coverage without proof of insurability. If you are already enrolled,
you may increase your life insurance coverage by one level without proof of
insurability. The Sterling Insurance Group will be at the Louisville Assembly
Plant Monday, April 4th thru Wednesday, April 6th. The times are as follows:
Monday from 8:30 am—1 pm and 5 pm—10pm, Tuesday from 5 am—10 am, 5 pm—10
pm, and Wednesday from 8:30 am—1 pm and 5 pm—10 pm as of now. Any changes
in this schedule will be updated.
FIRST QUARTER 2016 SPECIAL VOLUNTARY SEPARATION PROGRAM AND SPECIAL RETIREMENT
INCENTIVE OFFERING: There two offerings available for eligible UAW employees.
The Special Termination of Employment Program (STEP) is for full time active non
skilled Legacy and skilled employees hired prior to November 19, 2007.
Employees who voluntarily terminate their employment under the STEP program will
receive a lump sum cash payment, in the form of a check for $70,000 (gross, pre
tax amount). The second option is the Special Retirement Incentive (SRI) is
for those that have 30 or more years of credited service under the Ford-UAW
Retirement Plan or are 55 years of age with 10 or more years of credited service
under the Ford-UAW Retirement Plan or are at least 65 years of age with one or
more years of credited service under the Ford-UAW Retirement Plan. Employees
who meet one of the above 3 SRI eligibility requirements by November 30, 2016
will be able to apply for the SRI During the application period. Employees who
retire under the SRI will receive a lump sum cash payment, in the form of a
check for $70,000 for non skilled and skilled trades employees (gross, pre tax
amount). The initial number given would be that 4,000 total employees will be
eligible to sign up for the two options. The sign up period will be February
15, 2016 thru March 21, 2016. These forms are available in the Labor Relations
Office and can be filled out in the Labor Relations Office.
SPECIALTY OPPORTUNITY TO RETURN ZONE OF HIRE: The one time sign up window for
the return to zone of hire will be Monday, February 15th until Monday, March
21st. Eligible employees will include those who elected an out of zone
opportunity since 3/13/2009 but prior to the conclusion of the sign up window.
This will include legacy employees who elected the Enhanced/Modified Enhanced
Moving Allowances, as well as former Ford Temporary and ACH Hourly Employees who
accepted a Ford Entry Level Position. Available opportunities will be offered
to eligible employees on this list by zone as they arise after exhausting the
preferential placement hierarchy steps but prior to hiring from the street.
Employees from a closed pant in a zone where no locations remain will be
considered for opportunities in the zone of their job assignment immediately
following the plant closure. Available opportunities will be offered in order
of the employee’s Ford Service Date (highest to lowest); skilled employees
will be considered in seniority order based upon their Date of Entry (highest to
lowest) followed by Ford Service Date if necessary. If needed, the last four
of the employee’s Social Security Number would be the final tiebreaker
(highest to lowest—9999 will be greater than 0000). There will be no moving
allowance payable and the new location will become the employee’s Basic Unit
Location. There is no guarantee that an opportunity will become available
during the term of the 2015 CBA. If you are interested in signing up, please
do so in the Labor Relations Office.
SAINT PATRICK’S DAY PARADE: If anyone is interest in volunteering for the
event, there will be sign ups in the UAW Store or you may fill out a paper and
leave it in the mail slot (located at the bottom of the glass window in the
corner of the store). This is a family friendly fun event. Please contact
Gayle Parker at 502-418-1990 if you are interested or have any further
questions.
CALL IN PROCEDURE: The 2015 National Contract had a change regarding the call in
procedure, and it is catching a lot of attention. The new language states that
all employees are expected to call in all unplanned absences at least 60 minutes
prior to the start of the shift. The National Attendance Tracking System
number is 1-866-893-0576. There has been issues with the ATS Line in the past
where employees can’t get through the system, the system is down, or simply
busy. In these cases, please keep a copy of the phone records or call log that
show you attempted to call the ATS Line according to the new language, 60
minutes prior to the start of the shift.
PROM PARTY GIVE-AWAY: This event is to reach out to families that are not able
to afford the expense of a prom dress and accessories for the young ladies
attending this special event. It will be hosted by Derby City CLUW Members of KY
and UAW Local 862 Ford members and will take place Saturday, March 19, 2016 at
the UAW Local 862 Union Hall, 3000 Fern Valley Rd, 9:00am until noon or until
the dresses are gone. They are a non-profit organization of women who care and
want to assist young ladies in Louisville and the surrounding areas that are
underprivileged and could use some help with their upcoming high school prom.
They want to make the students’ night exciting and memorable by providing them
with dresses, shoes and accessories. Any and all high school students are
welcome. Petites to plus sizes will be available. We are requesting any
donation through February 29th for gently used prom dresses, dress shoes,
purses, or money donations that we can use to dry clean donated dresses we have

regarding donations and young ladies for a reserved spot.
UAW LOCAL 862 BASS TOURNAMENT: The UAW Local 862 Bass Tournament will be held
on Sunday, April 10th at 7:30 AM (or safe light) to 3:30 PM. The entry fee
will be $60 per boat and the deadline to register will be April 1st, and there
will be NO exceptions. The prizes that will be awarded are as follows: 1st
Big Fish Lunker--$300, along with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place trophies will be
awareded according to total weight. All entry fees must accompany entry form
in the way of money orders only. Check in time the day of the tournament will
be 7:15 and you must return no later than 3:30 or your catch will not be
allowed. You can make money orders payable to UAW Local 862 and mail the entry
form and the entry fee to UAW Local 862—Bass Tournament, 3000 Fern Valley
Road, Louisville, KY 40213. Please call 502-969-9136 with any and all

PROUD UNION HOME SIGNS: The Proud Union Home yard signs are available at both
Union Halls. Your membership requested the initial printing and they will be
available on a first come, first serve basis. Once the initial allotment is
gone, we will likely solicit the membership for a second printing..
ANNUAL RED CROSS BLOOD DRIVE: The American Red Cross will be having their annual
blood drive at the Louisville Assembly Plant on Monday, February 22nd thru
Friday, February 26th. The times will be 7:00 am—1 pm (for the dayshift) and
from 5:00 pm—11 pm (for the nightshift) in the main cafeteria. The goal set
this year is to have 400 donors. If interested in donating blood, please
contact your process coach so they can get you scheduled.
UAW VCAP AWARDS: Communication has been mailed to each eligible member
participating in the 2015 VCAP Director’s Club Program regarding how to go
about placing your order for VCAP Apparel. Placing your order will be much
easier this year as you can order through a web site or a QR Scan code. If you
have any additional questions, please call the KTP Union Hall at 502-241-9491.
UAW LOCAL 862 ANNUAL EASTER EGG HUNT: This year’s Easter Egg Hunt will be held
on Good Friday, which is March 25th from 4:30 pm until 7:30 pm at the LAP Union
Hall Gym. This event will be held for children 6 months old up to the age of
10. The Hunt itself will begin at 6:30 pm. There will also be
“bouncies,” a slide, face painting, balloons, and snacks at the event from
4:30 pm until 6:30 pm. There will also be a drawing held at 6:45 where prizes
will be awarded at the end of the hunt. We hope that all of our Local 862
Brothers, Sisters, and Families will be able to attend.
FRIENDS AND FAMILY LIMITED-TIME A/Z CONQUEST PIN PROGRAM: To help celebrate
another great year at Ford, U.S. employees and retirees will be given one
additional A/Z PIN for use between Jan. 8 and Feb. 29, 2016, to share with
extended family, friends, or neighbors. The unique, limited-time program,
called A/Z-Plan Conquest PIN, is designed to encourage employees to become brand
ambassadors and help attract new conquest customers to the Ford and Lincoln
brands. Employees and retirees are free to give the one additional PIN to
someone they know who currently drives a competitive vehicle or has a
competitive vehicle in their immediate household. Current lease customers are
not required to terminate their lease and current owners are not required to
trade in their vehicle. To generate an A/Z-Plan Conquest PIN you can call
1-800-348-7709 or visit www.axz.ford.com and select “Generate a PIN, Generate
PIN for someone else,” and take the following simple steps:

FOREIGN VEHICLE PARKING: The Local Union and the LAP Plant Security has
received numerous complaints about employees parking in areas where they don’t
belong. The foreign parking area is located in the rear of the far east of the
main parking lot near the Pre Delivery area and Gate 70. There is another
foreign vehicle parking lot located in the rear of the Paint/Body II parking
area. Please be advised that security is looking for parking violators as they
make their security rounds. To avoid receiving a warning, ticket or possibly
having your vehicle towed at your own expense, please park in the appropriate
areas.
