LAP WEEKLY UPDATE June 3rd , 2016
ORDER BANK
2017 ESCAPE: 22,042
UNITS 27 Day Supply
2017 MKC: 4,931 UNITS
28 Day Supply
MONTHLY MEMBERSHIP MEETING: The monthly membership meeting will be held on
Tuesday, June 7th at 12 pm and 6 pm at the KTP Union Hall on Chamberlain Lane.
Please make every effort to attend one of the Union Meetings. For all new
members, who have yet to be sworn in, please come to either of the meetings so
you can formally be sworn in.
FITNESS CENTER: Please respect the equipment. The Fitness center is a privilege
not a right. Return the equipment to the proper place and don’t damage the
equipment or the facilities. There are new investments coming soon but it’s
hard to argue for new equipment if we are the ones damaging it. Everything in
the fitness center is company property and if you are caught vandalizing or
stealing the equipment you will be disciplined.
INFLATION PROTECTION BONUS: The next bonus from the 2015 National Agreement will
be received on pay ending 6/12/16.
LEADERSHIP PAGE: Recently your leadership has started a Facebook page for
informational purposes only. Send a request and join the most influential page
on Facebook. Go to the search box and type in UAW862 LAP Leadership.
FORD DISCOUNT PARTS: As an active Ford employee or retiree you can now receive
an exclusive 15% employee discount when you order and purchase parts at
FordParts.com. Order any part, any time online and get your 15% discount on over
283,000 Motorcraft® parts and Genuine Parts. Enter your promo code: EMPLOYEE
to receive your 15% employee discount. In order to successfully checkout, you
need to validate the last four digits of your Social Security number, ZIP code
and last name.
VACATION SHUTDOWN: The shutdown period is now confirmed for the week of July
4th, 2016. The last production day (C-crew) will be July 3rd. A-Crew and
C-crew return to work on July 11th, 2016. B-Crew will return July 12th.
B- 12 SHOTS: The B-12 shots have started back up at the LAP Union Hall on
Tuesdays and Fridays at the LAP Union Hall. The program will initially offer
these treatments between the hours of 3 pm and 7 pm, but may be adjusted at a
later date. The price of the B12 shots will be $15 and the price for the B
complex lipo, Supercharge B12, and Vitamin D. All three will be 3 for $33. Other
services that can be provided are Laser Hair removal, Botox injections, just to
name a few. If you have any questions, please contact one of the Local ESSP
reps: Kevin Bush, Tina Jenkins or Jeff Hale.
PEDESTRIANS SAFETY: IT IS THE PEDESTRIAN’S RESPONSIBILITY to look for oncoming
PMHV traffic before crossing. If a vehicle is nearby, IT IS THE PEDESTRIAN’S
RESPONSIBILITY to make sure the driver knows they are in the vicinity and that
they intend to cross. In some cases the driver may be distracted and not see you
right away and continue to drive down the aisle past you. THE DRIVER HAS THE
RIGHT OF WAY and you must wait for the vehicle to pass. The Company is
reinforcing that PEDESTRIANS DO NOT HAVE THE RIGHT OF WAY in shared aisles with
material handling equipment.
HEAT STRESS: (Per Local Agreement Pg. 54) It is agreed that the Company will
provide ice and/or liquids whenever the outside temperature reaches 90 degrees.
Bottled Gatorade or equivalent will be supplied whenever the forecast or actual
outside temperature is 95 degrees or higher. It is agreed that on qualifying
days the distribution machines will be turned on and off when the external
temperature is 85 degrees. Each employee will receive 2 bottles based on a
normal operating pattern of 10 hours. It is further understood that on day(s)
when the outside temperature exceeds 100 degrees management will review other
avenues to address this abnormal condition. To request temperature/humidity
measurements contact your company/union safety representative to have the
humiture reading taken in your area of the facility.
PAID PLANNED DAY OFF PROCESS - (per Local Agreement pg. 37) Every Process Coach
will have a calendar on which he/she will denote any requests which they
received from their hourly employees to be off during a scheduled workday.
Requests for days off will not be accepted less than at least one week in
advance but no more than 30 days of the requested day off and will only be
accepted during any full Crew/Shift to be worked during this 30 day period.
(e.g., the earliest opportunity an employee could request time off would be the
beginning of the first full Crew/Shift within the 30 day period prior to the day
off requested). Days off must be requested in writing and will be handled on a
first come basis, however, in the event multiple requests are received within
the same Crew/Shift for the same day off, seniority will be the daily tiebreaker
in granting paid excused absence request (s). The Process Coach will write the
employee's name on the calendar, on the date the employee desires to be off from
work. At the same time, employee form (Employee Request for Planned Day Off With
Pay) will be processed. Failure to respond to the employee's written request,
more than two scheduled working days after the request is made, will
automatically excuse the employee's absence.
