MONTHLY MEMBERSHIP MEETING 8/9: The monthly membership meeting will be held on
Tuesday, August 9th at 12 pm and 6 pm at the KTP Union Hall on Chamberlain
Lane. Please make every effort to attend one of the Union Meetings. For all
new members, who have yet to be sworn in, please come to either of the meetings
so you can formally be sworn in.
UAW LOCAL 862 GOLF SCRAMBLE 8/14: The annual golf scramble will be held at Elk
Run Golf Club on Sunday August 14, 2016. Morning Flight has a 7:30 am tee time.
Afternoon Flight has a 1:30 pm tee time. Check in for the morning flight is 6:45
am. Check in for afternoon flight is 10:45 am. Entry fee deadline is August 1st
at 3 pm. Only accepting the 1st 192 golfers, 96 golfers per flight, 4 person
teams. All prizes will be drawn between flights. Register online by going to
uawlocal862.golfgenius.com. Paper forms and money should be submitted to the
Fern Valley Union Hall to Scott Edwards. The Entry fee is 55.00.
JDRF AWARENESS RIDE 8/21: Join us for a great day of fun, food and scenic
riding. Voted one of the top rides in Kentucky, this year's Poker Run will start
at the KTP Union Hall and end at the beautiful Wendell Moore Park in Buckner,
KY. All motorcycles are welcome. Pre-registration must be received by August 8,
2016. Registration begins at 8am. Kickstands up at 10 am. For more

F150 RAFFLE 8/23: 2016 March of Dimes UAW-Ford Raffle for 2016 F-150 Super Crew
-Tickets are 1 for $10 or 3 for $20. The Winner will be drawn August 23rd at the
March of Dimes golf outing. Tickets can be bought from the LAP Charity store in
the Main Café.
Labor Day Picnic and Car Show at the Zoo 9/5: Mark your calendars for the 17th
Annual Labor Day at the Zoo Picnic and Car Show on September 5th. This is an
event for union members and their families. The tickets will go on sale sometime
around the beginning of August at the local union halls. Ticket prices will
remain $7 for advance sales and $9 at the gate the day of the event. Children
two and under are free. Included in the ticket price is all day admission to
the zoo, parking, food and drinks, the car show and inflatable rides. Food and
drinks will be served from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. Zoo hours are 10:00 am to 5:00
pm (exhibits remain open until 6:00 pm). Off-site parking and shuttles will be
available. Proceeds benefit Zoo Kids, The Louisville Zoo, Shop with A Deputy,

RIDERS FOR HEREOS RIDE 9/10: “Run for Active Heroes” is September 10th and
11th. Ride starts at Bluegrass Harley Davidson and ends at the LAP Union Hall on
the 11th. Pre-registration deadline is September 1st. Entry forms can be found

UNION MEN WHO COOK 9/24: Join Derby City CLUW (Coalition of Labor Union Women)
as we host a “Tasting Competition” featuring union men. We will have men
from various local unions prepare their best recipes for your approval. They
will chop, dice, and bake their way to bragging rights for the best appetizers,
entrees and desserts. The event will be held at LAP UNION HALL on Fern Valley
Road. To enter contact Derby City CLUW at derbycitycluw@aol.com or 502-694-2589.
Deadline to enter is July 29th, 2016.
SAVE AND DONATE TOLIETRIES: Save and donate your unused toiletries from your
vacations starting June 1, 2016 until September 1, 2016. The UAW Local 862 KTP
& LAP Community Services Committees will be collecting these items for the
Wayside Mission Shelter and Camp Taylor Elementary School. The drop off for
these items will be a collection box in the LAP Tee shirt store during store
hours and at both union halls in the secretaries’ area, Monday thru Friday 8
am to 4 pm.
B- 12 SHOTS: The B-12 shots have started back up at the LAP Union Hall on
Tuesdays and Fridays. The program will initially offer these treatments between
the hours of 3 pm and 7 pm, but may be adjusted at a later date. The price of
the B12 shots will be $15.00. The price for the B complex lipo, Supercharge B12,
and Vitamin D combination of all three will be $33. Other services that can be
provided are Laser Hair removal, Botox injections, just to name a few. If you
have any questions, please contact one of the Local ESSP reps: Kevin Bush,
Tina Jenkins or Jeff Hale.
EMPLOYEE SUPPORT SERVICES PROGRAM (ESSP): The Employee Support Services Program
(ESSP) supports UAW-represented Ford workers and their families with a variety
of services during changes or difficult decision-making times. At the core of
ESSP is the Employee Assistance Plan (EAP). The Plan provides employees and
their families a voluntary and confidential way to obtain counseling, support or
professional assistance. ESSP is the source for information on wellness
activities and for consultation regarding personal decisions. For more
