Last week on Monday, I heard we might have a down week in October, then on Tuesday I heard we had some Super Saturdays and Super Sundays scheduled in October, November and December, then the next day I heard that one of our vendors said we would have a down week in September. You just can't ever tell with this place.

Asked a committeperson about this and he said looks like the first week of Oct we'll be down althought the plant manager is going to try to avoid it by shorting our hours each day, which has already started. I told him I'd rather have the week off or just let C crew work (some don't get sub-pay) and let the rest of us have the time off.
Here's another thought: How is it that just three weeks ago we needed the vehicles so bad that they could only shut down one week for vacation and now we're in dire straits? Seems the last time there was a huge absentee problem all of the sudden the plant manager said "No more overtime"; eventually that rule faded into the sunset. Now that it has happen again he's saying "One week down"; maybe, maybe not.

Ford must really be expecting slow sales the rest of the year.

Could it be that the Lincoln is leaving LAP very soon & we're gonna have to retool to run a different style Escape or a new product? We have been running a shit load of Lincoln's lately.

Was talking with an engineer about two months ago and I said something to him about loosing the Lincoln in Feb (had heard Feb) and he said it had not been decided yet when it was leaving. Who knows, although when you hear rumors I heard another person too say they heard we were going to be down for a retool. For what I don't know.

I've heard extended downtime for a retool in 2018. You're probably right. The same engineer said that we have a major model change to the Escape for 2019 so launch would probably be in 2018.

I would think Ford would want to move the Lincoln before the 2018's are launched. But who know's if we're really losing the Lincoln?

Interesting, I talked to one of the engineers on the 2017 launch, who was in charge of the 1.5L, and I asked him about a hybrid. He said the Ecoboost gets almost as good mileage as a hybrid so there were no plans for any at our plant. This was back in late March.
