Things You Should Know
REPORTING YOUR ABSENCE (Local Agreement pg. 7): - Employees have the
responsibility to report to work and be on time. The company, however,
recognizes that there may be occasions when it will be necessary for employees
to be absent or tardy. On these occasions, employees are required to notify the
Company utilizing the steps outlined below:
•Whenever possible, request permission in advance to be absent or tardy.
(Personal leave hours are specifically provided for this purpose.)
•If you are unable to provide advance notice, you must call in 1 hour before
the start of the Crew/Shift and report your absence or tardiness. The Plant
maintains specific call-in telephone lines for this purpose. The telephone
number is 1(866)893-0576 and this system will automatically record your call-in
with a confirmation number (keep this number for verification). You will be
required to provide your social security number and Ford seniority date (not
plant) at the time of the call. You must call each day you are absent, this
includes Family Medical Leaves.
•Both parties mutually agree to pursue new technologies in the future for
reporting absences, including phone applications, E-mail etc.
•If you are absent for three (3) or more consecutive days as a result of
illness, you must call 1-877-HRLY-MLA (1-877-475-9652), and request a
Conditional Medical Leave.

DISCIPLINARY PROCESS – (Local Agreement pg. 1) All hearings where a 4600 form
is issued will be administered within 14 days of an alleged incident, excluding
days of absence for any reason. The Company will notify the Union if additional
time is needed due to extenuating circumstances (lengthy investigation). It is
not the Company’s intent to frivolously penalize employees. Discipline is
intended to be corrective rather than punitive in nature.
PAID PLANNED DAY OFF PROCESS - (per Local Agreement pg. 37) Every Process Coach
will have a calendar on which he/she will denote any requests which they
received from their hourly employees to be off during a scheduled workday.
Requests for days off will not be accepted less than at least one week in
advance but no more than 30 days of the requested day off and will only be
accepted during any full crew/shift to be worked during this 30-day period.
(e.g., the earliest opportunity an employee could request time off would be the
beginning of the first full crew/shift within the 30-day period prior to the day
off requested). Days off must be requested in writing and will be handled on a
first come basis. However, in the event multiple requests are received within
the same crew/shift for the same day off, seniority will be the daily tiebreaker
in granting paid excused absence request (s). The Process Coach will write the
employee's name on the calendar, on the date the employee desires to be off from
work. At the same time, employee form (Employee Request for Planned Day Off With
Pay) will be processed. Failure to respond to the employee's written request,
more than two scheduled working days after the request is made, will
automatically excuse the employee's absence.
