President Dunn’s Weekly Newsletter Volume 1, Issue 202 September 8, 2016
Riders for Heroes Rally, Bike Show and Silent Auction – This event will be
held on Sunday, September 11, 2016 at the LAP Union Hall, 3000 Fern Valley Rd
(rain or shine) from 1:00pm-7:00pm. You do not need to be a motorcyclist to
attend; everyone is invited to this event. There will be live music from
Caribou, Lyndsey Henken and Olivia Henken, food, drinks, vendor supplied adult
beverages, Dyno and more. The cost of admission is $5.00 and will benefit Active
Heroes.
UAW Local 862 Annual Picnic – This event will be held Sunday September 18,
2016 from 11:00am-5:00pm on the North Great Lawn of the Downtown Waterfront. All
UAW Local 862 members, retirees, surviving spouses and their immediate household
members are invited. Please have Ford ID or union card available for admission
wristband and a chance to win prizes throughout the day; you must be present to
win. There will be food, inflatables, rides, games, prizes, and more. Food will
consist of grilled hamburgers and hotdogs, pulled pork, roasted corn on the cob,
pasta salad, coleslaw, fruit salad, desserts and drinks. There will be Bingo
from 1:30 until all the prizes are won (must be 16+ to play). There will be a
Cornhole Tournament; sign-ups are the day of the event at the DJ booth. Union
members will be given t-shirts while supplies last.
Union Meeting Survey Results - At the August Union meetings suggestions were
taken regarding the Union Meeting days and times. During the September Union
Meetings, a survey was conducted on those suggestions. By a majority of 52%, the
survey results were to keep the Union Meetings as they currently are, the second
Tuesday of each month at 12pm and 6pm. The Executive Board will take the
survey results under advisement at the next E-Board meeting. Thank you for
your participation in the survey.
Ford Motor Company Sales and Service Divisions along with Ford Motor Credit
Company were present at our Sept. 6th Membership Meetings. They had
information regarding current new vehicle rebates, FMCC financing options, Ford
and Lincoln Protect Extended Service Contract information along with current
employee service discounts for tires. If you didn’t get the chance to visit
their table, they will be back for our next meeting on Tuesday, October 11, 2016
at the KTP Union Hall.

VOTER REGISTRATION – Citizenship and Legislative Committees for LAP and KTP
will be registering members to vote during the UAW 862 Riders for Heroes on
September 11th Active Heroes Rally. They will be at the Fern Valley Rd Union
Hall from 1:00pm until 5:00pm. If you are not registered to vote this will be a
perfect opportunity for you to do so.
UAW EDUCATION COMMITTEE MEET & GREET - Please join the UAW Local 862 Education
Committee and your fellow brothers and sisters for Fun, Fellowship, Food and
Games on October 8, 2016 from 6:00pm-9:00pm at the UAW Local 862 Union Hall on
Fern Valley Road.
RIDERS FOR HEROES RAFFLE – Congratulations to Glenn Metcalfe, from LAP. He won
the Riders for Heroes Raffle for the AR-15 at the September 6th Membership
Meeting.
