LAP WEEKLY UPDATE October 7th, 2016
ORDER BANK:
2017 ESCAPE: 29,726 UNITS 21 Day Supply
2017 MKC: 2,162 UNITS 21 Day Supply
PRODUCTION DOWN WEEK: All production has been cancelled for the week of 10/17/16
thru 10/23/16. Production will resume on 10/24/16 with A-Crew starting at 6am
and C-crew starting at 6pm.
C-CREW START TIME CHANGE 10/16: C-crew start time has changed to 6am for Sunday
10/16/16.
MONTHLY MEMBERSHIP MEETING 10/11: The monthly membership meeting will be held
on Tuesday, October 11th at 12 pm and 6 pm at the KTP Union Hall on Chamberlain
Lane. Please make every effort to attend one of the Union Meetings. For all
new members, who have yet to be sworn in, please come to either of the meetings
so you can formally be sworn in.
SUSAN G KOMAN WALK (Breast Cancer Walk) 10/8: Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure®
Series is the world’s largest and most successful education and fundraising
event for breast cancer ever created. The event raises significant funds and
awareness for the breast cancer movement, celebrates breast cancer survivorship
and honors those who have lost their battle with the disease. Registration
starts at 6am at Slugger Field.
MEET & GREET PRESENTED BY EDUCATION COMMMITTEE 10/8: Please join the UAW Local
862 Education Committee and your fellow brothers and sisters for Fun,
Fellowship, Food and Games on October 8, 2016 from 6:00pm-9:00pm at the UAW
Local 862 Union Hall on Fern Valley Road.
UAW BASS TOURNAMENT 10/9: Tournament will be held at Nolin Lake. Entry fee is
$60 per boat. Event is from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm. Entry forms are at the LAP
Union Hall. Deadline to enter is October 5th (no exceptions). Money orders must
be made payable to UAW Local 862. For further details contact 502-969-9136.
walk to cure diabetes 10/15: The Louisville JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes will be
held on Saturday October 15th at Churchill Downs. The walk is fun and family
friendly, features entertainment, food, and kids’ activities. All employees
and family members are invited to join the UAW/Ford Walk Team. Arrive at
11:00am, team pictures at 11:45am, and the 2-mile walk starts at 12:30pm. Ford
Walk T-Shirts are available at the UAW/Ford walk tent the morning of the walk.
Shirts are a $5 donation or $20/family (max 6).
WORLDS LARGEST HALLOWEEN PARTY10/15: Volunteers are needed for the World’s
Largest Halloween Party for the UAW/Ford at the Louisville Zoo on Saturday
October 15, 2016. We will need to check-in at 4 pm – enter into the front of
the Zoo and someone will be there to direct you to the meeting room. They will
provide a box lunch and give us our assignments. No Children are allowed at
this volunteer assignment and you will be expected to volunteer from 4 pm-9:30
pm. Please feel free to dress up (no scary costumes. We need a total of 40
volunteer’s ages 16 years and older.
Scare the Life Out of cancer Halloween bash 10/22: The Local 862 Joint Community
Service Committees are hosting an Adult Halloween Costume Party on October 22nd
from 8pm-12am at the Local 862 Union Hall at 3000 Fern Valley Rd. the cost is
$5.00 per person (advance or at the door). BYOB. There will be door prizes, a
music DJ, 50/50 drawing. Costumes are not required but are encouraged. Proceeds
from this event will go to Making Strides Against Breast Cancer.
YEAR 2 LUMP SUM (4%): Traditional Employees (Legacy) will receive a 4% bonus
(approximately $2800 based on 2080 straight time hours) pay ending week
10/16/16.
MAKE THE CONNECTION: Make the Connection helps JCPS Middle School Students
explore careers. The goal is to give every 7th grader in a JCPS middle school
the opportunity to meet with a professional to hear about their career and the
path that got them there. In order to reach that goal, JCPS needs 1,200 citizens
to give 1 hour of their time. Make the Connection will happen during the month
of October, and there are flexible locations and times. It is a fulfilling
experience for volunteers to connect with students at a transitional point in
their lives. Volunteers will conduct two 30-minute conferences with three
seventh-grade students during each half hour session. For further details
contact the Union Hall at 502-969-9136.
UAW 862 Phone Banks for fall elections: Join fellow union members to phone bank
for Pro-Labor Endorsed Candidates each Monday thru Friday, from now up to
November 7, 2016.
-The KTP Phone Bank is located at the KTP Union Hall at 2702 Chamberlain Lane
from 11:00am-5:00pm.
