Union in Our Heart Book Distribution - The UAW Local 862 historical publication which is following our Bare Foot Boy On the Parkway has arrived; The Union in Our Heart publication, written by Judy Harden. The distribution schedule for next week at both plants is Monday October 24 thru Friday October 28, at the end of shift for B-crew. Members at KTP can pick their books up at Gate 6 and members at LAP can pick their books up in the cafeteria. All production and skilled trades are encouraged to pick up their books. The books will continue to be offered to our retired and active workforce until the membership receives the publication. All units will be able to pick up their books through distribution at any of the above designated pickup times and locations.
Scare the Life Out of cancer Halloween bash – The Local 862 Joint Community Service Committees are hosting an adult Halloween Costume Party on October 22nd from 8pm-12am at the Local 862 Union Hall at 3000 Fern Valley Rd. the cost is $5.00 per person (advance or at the door). BYOB. There will be door prizes, a music DJ, and a 50/50 drawing. Costumes are not required but are encouraged. Proceeds from this event will go to Making Strides Against Breast Cancer.
a/z plan pin for extended family members – For a limited time, now through January 3, 2016, the A/Z Plan Pin Program eligibility has been expanded to include aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. To support this initiative, all U.S. employees and retirees will be granted two additional A/Z Plan Pins for the remainder of 2016. Pins generated after Dec 31st will be deducted from 2017 PIN allocation. See www.axz.ford.com for more details.
LAP Retirement seminar - Are you prepared for The Next Now? UAW 862 WINTER COAT DRIVE – The annual coat drive for Wayside Mission and Interlink Counseling Services will begin November 1 thru December 12. A box will be set up at each union hall for the collection.
