We also support efforts to keep America strong by raising the standard of living, adding to the economy and saving jobs that may be lost to other countries. The job you save could be your own! You can view and/or print the UAW 2016 Holiday Shoppers Guide by visiting www.uaw862.org and search “Buy American”.
Louisville holiday in the city – Louisville’s Holiday in the City promotes holiday happenings and events throughout Downtown Louisville, and markets the city as a holiday destination for residents and visitors. Holiday in the City will continues through December 23rd with Ice Skating at Holiday Square located at 4th and Jefferson. The Holiday Market and great local festive entertainment will be featured at 4th Street Live! every Thursday through Sunday through December 23rd. UAW VETERANS AND COMMUNITY SERVICES WINTER COAT DRIVE – From now thru December 12, 2016 collection bins will be located inside selected entrances at both plants and the union halls on Fern Valley Rd and Chamberlain Lane. We will only collect clothing items (i.e. coats, jackets, hats, and gloves). These warm items will be donated to Wayside Mission.
BOXES OF LOVE CHRISTMAS MEAL PROGRAM – Local 862 will continue the tradition supported by the KTP and LAP Chairpersons in the Annual Boxes of Love Christmas Meal Program. The complete meals will provide many families a Christmas meal that some would otherwise not have received without the support of Local 862. These meals will be assembled on December 22nd and delivered on the 23rd. All members of Local 862 are invited to volunteer on either of these two days. If you would like to get involved, please contact either of the local union halls and provide your name and a contact number so we can coordinate with you.
