Fords spending billions on the new plant in India that's gonna build the Ecosport. The employees will make about a buck a hour! The Ecosport looks almost dead like the Escape. Are they really retooling in 2018 or are they gonna pull an Atlanta on us? Lot's of rumble about C crew going away, many jobs would be lost and A & B crew would go back 5 10 hours shifts, or maybe even 8 hour shifts. Who knows? This is all probably just bullshit rumors. Just saying.... Check the photos of the Ecosport and compare them to the Escape. www.motortrend.com/news/six-first-impressions-2018-ford-ecosport/

Second you couldn't import enough vehicles to keep up with what the Escape sells. C crew was put on for supply and demand, now that that is slowly going away why would you keep 1500 employees and pay them benefits when you could save money by paying overtime. Explorer's ran like that for years. Also you have people who only want to work 3 days a week and you can't run a profitable business like that, constantly doubling up on a job to cover, not profitable. I'm just an older worker stating facts as to what he is seeing with the new generation of workers out there but LAP is still going to be there one way or the other. Either with 3 crews or 2.

Trumps going to throw a 35% tax on them coming back into the USA. Trump can't tax anything unless Congress agrees to it.

the ecosport will not replace the escape, it is a significantly smaller vehicle. with that said, any new vehicle in the ford lineup will cost us some sales of our escape. much like the escape cost us sales from our explorer.
