With the ATS line being down for so long, I thought it would be prudent to look up the black and white describing the procedure regarding such events. But as far as I can determine, that process isn't in any of the contracts. It seems only to appear in three of the 2016 weekly updates, dated March 4, Feb 26, Feb 19. CALL IN PROCEDURE: The 2015 National Contract had a change regarding the call in procedure, and it is catching a lot of attention. The new language states that all employees are expected to call in all unplanned absences at least 60 minutes prior to the start of the shift. The National Attendance Tracking System number is 1-866-893-0576. There has been issues with the ATS Line in the past where employees can’t get through the system, the system is down, or simply busy. In these cases, please keep a copy of the phone records or call log that show you attempted to call the ATS Line according to the new language, 60 minutes prior to the start of the shift. So my question is, if labor decides to be a bunch of hardasses, and refuses to accept my call log, do I actually have a case, and if so, why? uawlap.org/building-chairpersons-report/weekly-updates/weekly-update-march-4-2016.phpuawlap.org/building-chairpersons-report/weekly-updates/lap-weekly-update-february-26-2016.phpuawlap.org/building-chairpersons-report/weekly-updates/weekly-update-february-19-2016.php

you have looked into this more than i have, but my short answer would be no. all we ever hear is "contractual language" when we have issues. i am positive there is no language that requires me to have a cell phone and present that device to labor to "prove" an attempt at calling in.
i am just assuming the local worked with labor and created a solution, which is us presenting a call log. but, to me anyway, thats not a sufficient solution to the problem.

I wonder how one presents a call log if the call was placed on a landline?

You've been here longer enough to know that's unacceptable. You may miss work once your dead, assuming you have prior written permission In that case the Union, and FoMoCo expect you to call and come in late. If you wait until 15 before start of shift to call in and AWOL not only did you AWOL, but you also didn't report it soon enough ( like it actually matters )

If the standard number is down, call the posted back up number, or take the disciplinary for not calling in.

Its fuckin 2016, they can buy a damn burner phone to take messages for $39.99 at Kmart. Make a yahoo email account & I can email it and the date, time, even my damn IP address is on it. Fact is they don't give a damn about us calling in, & neither does the union leadership. if they won't cover you go back to your job for a few hours then go to medical about your back and take 6 weeks off, they wanna fuck around lets fuck around. Good luck people, be safe

I wonder how one presents a call log if the call was placed on a landline? You can get the logs from the phone company. It was pain to do, and they don't usually do it unless it is a court case, but it is possible. By the way, Ford didn't accept what I proved to them. I never received the robo-call that everyone else did. They owe me a Personal day!

I've seen it posted on many handouts/ bulletins in the plant, in various departments. I'm sure it's on this forum board, and possibly Facebook. I'm not at work, and on vacation next week, and I've never had to use it so I can't give it to you
