LAP WEEKLY UPDATE January 13th, 2017
ORDER BANK:
2017 ESCAPE: 29,506 UNITS 22 Day Supply
2017 MKC: 3,042 UNITS 20 Day Supply
RIGHT TO WORK: The President’s office of Local 862 has contacted state AFL-CIO
reps and attorneys representing all Kentucky labor unions about the GOP’s push
for Right to Work . At the current time all 3 laws, prevailing wage, paycheck
fairness and right to work will be challenged through the court systems. Until
an outcome is reached, this will not effect Local 862 as far right to work is
concerned until 2019. Paycheck fairness does not apply to the private sector
workers.
C-CREW PRODUCTION START TIME CHANGE 1/15: Production for Sunday 1/15/17 has been
changed to 6 a.m.
2015 COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT: Contract books have been printed and we
are waiting on the Thumb drives. The local leadership will be distributing them
ASAP. Our intent is to buy additional thumb drives for every employee for
distribution. Printed copies of the local and national will be available upon
request. We do not have enough to give every employee one of each.
PATHWAY TO SKILLED TRADES APPRENTICESHIP: All candidates completing the IRCP
Program in 2016 must submit their transcripts to the Local Joint Apprenticeship
Coordinator, Gary Mudd, no later than January 20, 2017. Students attending JCTCS
can request their transcripts through Nickie Cobb @ nicole.cobb@kctcs.edu Online
students please contact Penn Foster. Transcripts will be collected during the
following times and dates: January 9, 2017 through January 20, 2017 from 4 pm -
6 pm Monday through Friday in the Main Cafeteria. Please do not submit your
transcripts to your Committeeperson or Local UAW leadership for processing.
SIGN-UPS FOR THE 2017 IRCP Program1/11-14: Sign-ups will be held in the Main
Cafeteria from January 11th?14th during the following times: 9 am - 9:30 am,
Noon - 12:30 pm, and 4 pm - 5:30 pm. Classes begin week beginning January 23rd.

WEIGHT WATCHERS 1/16: Let’s get in shape!!!! Weight Watcher class sign ups
begin January 16th just contact Jeff Hale @ 364-3687 (leave a message with your
contact info) and he will help you with signing up or simply attend the
information meeting on Monday January 23rd at 5 pm in Conference Room “A” in
the In-plant Union Office. Bring your check for $25 made out to Weight Watchers
(the rest of the cost will be paid by your ETAP PDA for those who are eligible),
this is a savings of $107. Classes will start on Monday January 30th and be held
once a week for 12 weeks.
UAW LOCAL 862 POOL TOURNAMENT 1/16: This year’s tournament will be held
January 16, 2016 at Diamond Pub & Billiards at 630 Barret Avenue, Louisville, KY
40204. Registration will be 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm for the first 64 players. Entry
fee (green fee included) $15.00. Added Money $300.00. Tables open at 12:30 pm -
1:30 pm for practice. First, second, and third place winners will be paid.” 8
Ball-Scotch Doubles-Double Elimination.” You must be a UAW Local 862 active or
retired member. Refreshments available and raffles will be taking place
throughout the tournament. For more information, please contact Sam Skipper

SIGN-UPS FOR TRIPLE CROWN 1/20: Employee sign-ups for the 2017 Louisville Triple
Crown of Running and Kentucky Marathon and Mini-Marathon begin on January 9th.
You can get the form online at at.ford.com or in the Charity Corner located in
the main café. Drop your signed form in the drop-box. Triple Crown Running is
on April 29th. Deadline to sign-up is January 20th.
TRANSFER UPDATE: Zone 1 has been completed for LAP; everyone should have been
canvassed. We have 47 people transferring back and have dates for the first 39
so far. Currently anyone with seniority 2004 or greater will be reporting to
FRAP on 2/20, anyone with seniority of 4/9/12 and their last four 5491 or higher
will be reporting to FRAP 2/27. The last group of 8 (eight) people are still
being discussed about a transfer date. HR will notify everyone when they receive
reporting instructions from FRAP about when, where and what time. Congrats and

JUNIOR ACHIEVMENT BOLWING TOURNEMENT 2/25: The 3RD Annual Junior Achievement
Bowling Tournament will be held on February 25th at ‘Strike and Spare’
located at 911 Phillips Lane. Registration forms can by picked up at the LAP
Union Hall or by calling Leila Burch at 502-569-9212. It’s $50 per person,
five (5) bowlers per lane, early bird registration ends February 17th.
DERBY CITY CLUW PROM PARTY 3/18: On March 18th 2017, the Derby City CLUW Members
of KY & UAW Local 862 Ford Members will be hosting the 2nd Annual Prom Party. We
are requesting new/clean and gently used Prom dresses, ‘after 5’ shoes,
evening clutch bags and any accessories you wish to donate for this Prom event
for young ladies in our community. Items can be dropped off at the union halls
located at 3000 Fern Valley Road or 2702 Chamberlain Lane between the hours of 8
am and 4 pm. Also volunteers are needed on March 17th to set up and March 18th
the day of the event. Any questions, please call Vera Newton at 364-3973.
