LAP WEEKLY UPDATE January 20th, 2017
ORDER BANK:
2017 ESCAPE: 29,421 UNITS 22 Day Supply
2017 MKC: 3,187 UNITS 20 Day Supply
2015 COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT: Contract books have been printed and we
are waiting on the Thumb drives. The local leadership will be distributing them
ASAP. Our intent is to buy additional thumb drives for every employee for
distribution. Printed copies of the local and national will be available upon
request. We do not have enough to give every employee one of each.
TRANSFER UPDATE: Your local Leadership has negotiated an early release for those
going to FLAT ROCK ASSEMBLY. Labor will be offering January 23rd or 30th. For
those who can't be released right away your date is TBD. Management will release
any one they can afford to let go. More details coming soon.
SIGN-UPS FOR TRIPLE CROWN 1/20: Employee sign-ups for the 2017 Louisville Triple
Crown of Running and Kentucky Marathon and Mini-Marathon begin on January 9th.
You can get the form online at at.ford.com or in the Charity Corner located in
the Main Café. Drop your signed form in
the drop-box. Triple Crown Running is on April 29th. Deadline to sign-up is
January 20th.
WEIGHT WATCHERS 1/23: Let’s get in shape!!!! Weight Watchers class sign ups
have begun, just contact Jeff Hale @ 364-3687 (leave a message with your contact
info) and he will help you with signing up or simply attend the informational
meeting on Monday January 23rd at 5 pm in Conference Room “A” in the
In-plant Union Office. Bring your check for $25 made out to Weight Watchers (the
rest of the cost will be paid by your ETAP PDA for those who are eligible), this
is a savings of $107. Classes will start on Monday January 30th and be held once
a week for 12 weeks.
GO RED DAY 2/3: Support the American Heart Association and wear red on Friday
February 3rd. Shirts can be purchased at the “Charity Corner” located in the
main café for $20. All proceeds go to the American Heart Association. Anyone
wearing red is encouraged to come to the Lincoln Garage during the 9am break for
a group photo.
DIRECTORS VALENTINES DAY DANCE 2/11: The Recreation Committee is hosting the
annual Valentine’s Day Dance at the LAP Union Hall on Saturday February 11th
from 8 pm-12 pm. Doors open at 7 pm. Tickets are $20 in advance each or $25 per
person at the door. Free Beer, Free Setups, BYOB. Music provided by the Henken
Band. Tickets have to be purchased by a UAW member. Tickets available at the LAP
Union Hall or call Amanda Goins at 502-643-4736 or the LAP Hall 502-969-9136.
BLOOD DRIVE 2/20: LAP Annual Blood Drive will be in the Plant in the UAW
Training Room “A.” Contact your supervisor for information or appointment.
Dates and times are as follows: Monday, Feb. 22- Thursday Feb. 23 from 7 am to 1
pm and 5 pm to 11 pm Friday, February 24 from 7 am to 1 pm and 5 pm to 9:30 pm.
JUNIOR ACHIEVMENT BOLWING TOURNEMENT 2/25: The 3RD Annual Junior Achievement
9-Pin TAP Bowling Tournament will be held on Saturday, February 25th at
”Strike and Spare” located at 911 Phillips Lane with a 6:00pm start.
Registration forms can by picked up at the LAP Union Hall or by calling Leila
Burch at 502-569-9212. Its $50 per person, $200 per team: Team is five (5)
bowlers per lane
DERBY CITY CLUW PROM PARTY 3/18: On March 18th 2017, the Derby City CLUW Members
of KY & UAW Local 862 Ford Members will be hosting the 2nd Annual Prom Party. We
are requesting new/clean and gently used Prom dresses, ‘after 5’ shoes,
evening clutch bags and any accessories you wish to donate for this Prom event
for young ladies in our community. Items can be dropped off at the union halls
located at 3000 Fern Valley Road or 2702 Chamberlain Lane between the hours of 8
am and 4 pm. Also volunteers are needed on March 17th to set up and March 18th
the day of the event. Any questions, please call Vera Newton at 364-3973.
CARL CASPER 2/25 & 2/26: The “Charity Corner” located in the main cafe will
be selling discount tickets for the Carl Casper Custom Auto Show. Tickets are
$12 and will be sold in limited quantities.
