KTP Retiree Daniel E. Thompson passed away
Daniel E. Thompson, 79, of Borden, IN, died at 7:26 p.m. January 23, 2017 at his
home. He had been ill for 8 months. He was retired from Ford Motor Company in
Louisville, KY. Mr. Thompson enjoyed pitching horseshoes, riding BSA
motorcycles, stacking wood with his tom cat and dog Yogi beside him, and riding
his ford tractor. He was born February 20, 1937 in Louisville, KY to the late
Albert and Edith Troxell Thompson. On May 30, 1987 at the Vallonia Christian
Church, he married Brenda J. Wheeler and she survives in Borden. Other survivors
include his 4 daughters, Theresa Smith & Julie Cook both of Pekin, Kristi Nash
of Salem, and Tracey Harris of Milltown; 18 grandchildren and 42 great
grandchildren. He was preceded in death by brothers, Gene & Jerry Thompson and
sisters Helen Cook and Rita Blankenbaker and a son Steve Thompson.
Funeral Services will be conducted Friday, January 27th at 1:00 p.m. at Johnson
Funeral Home with Jerry Wheeler officiating. Friends may call Thursday, January
26th from 3-7 p.m. and Friday from noon until service time at the funeral home.
Burial will take place at the Vallonia Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be
given to American Heart Association.
