UNIFORM PROGRAM: Your Leadership has just been notified that due to a
security issue between Arrow Uniforms & Apparel and Ford Motor Company, the
uniform ordering period will be delayed. After the ordering period at Kansas
City, it was discovered that Arrow wasn’t fully in compliant with Ford’s
personal information protection policies. Due to the threat of identity
theft/cybercrimes, your personal information is very closely guarded. There are
several requirements that have to be met before your information can be shared
outside the building. Your chairman Barry Ford is in discussions to not only
move the ordering period a week, but to extend it. This will give our members
more time to make their decision. This is a national issue and must be cleared
up ASAP. We apologize for the delay but we don’t expect this to delay orders

PERFECT ATTENDANCE 2016: Perfect Attendance awards will start being distributed
for the 2016 calendar year on 3/27. If you believe you qualify please stop by
the “Charity Corner” located in the main café and pick up your award.
Appeal forms for those who believe they qualify but aren’t on the list can be
picked up in Labor Relations.
WRISTBANDS FOR THUNDER OVER LOUISVILLE: Ford Motor Company will once again be
the “Thunder on the Ground” sponsor for the Kentucky Derby Festival’s
Thunder over Louisville. Because of our sponsorship, we will receive a limited
supply of wristbands and parking passes for the UAW/Ford tent located on top of
the Humana Garage. We will be selling “Thunder Packages” that includes 4
wristbands (meal included) and a parking pass for $100. All proceeds will
benefit March of Dimes. There will be a total of 40 Thunder packages to be
sold. To allow everyone to have an opportunity for the packages, we will have
a sign-up sheet in the Employee Store in the Main Cafeteria for those interested
in purchasing the Thunder package for $100. If you are interested, please
sign up before Friday April 7th. If more than 40 employees sign up to purchase
the thunder packages, all names will be entered into a drawing. All winners
will be notified on Tuesday April 11th. Payment will be due when the
wristbands and parking pass are delivered (Week of April 17th).
UAW-FORD HOURLY OPTIONAL LIFE ENROLLMENT 3/30-3-31: UAW-Ford Hourly Optional
Life & Accident Programs. “Open Enrollment” period for 2017 will be from
3-20-17 to 4-28-17. We will have representatives in the plant at the following
times: 5am- 6:30am(Th,F) , 8:30am-9:30am(Th,F) 11:30am- 12:30pm(Th-F)
4pm-5pm(Th,F) 5:30pm- 6:30pm(F) 8:30pm-9:30pm(F) 4am-5am(F).
BALLOON TEAM: Derby events are around the corner. Signups for the Balloon Team
have started. Come to the Charity Corner located in the main café and sign up,
or put the sign-up sheet in the mail slot. This will be a volunteer event. Bring
the family out and enjoy the glimmer, glow and the race on April 27th thru the
29th.

in the Main Cafeteria.

2017 RIDERS FOR HEROES FIRST RESPONDERS RUN 4/9: This event will be held on
April 9th, 2017. It will start and end at Bluegrass Harley Davidson.
Registration is 10:00am – 11:00am; kickstands up at 11:00am sharp. $10.00 for
singles and $15.00 for couples. There will be a live, band and food and drink
will be sold. All proceeds benefit the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
UAW LOCAL 862 BLACK BASS TOURNAMENT 4/9: The tournament will be Sunday April
9th, 2017 on Green River Lake, Holmes Bend. It will be 7:30am to 3:30pm,
Louisville time. Check-in time before 7:15am. Entry fee is $60.00 per boat.
Entry deadline is April 3rd, no exceptions. All entry fees (less expenses) will
be returned as prize money. Only money orders, payable to UAW Local 862, will be
accepted. Starting positions will be determined in the order the entries are
received. Registration forms can be picked up at either Local 862 Union Hall.
MONTHLY MEMBERSHIP MEETING 4/11: The monthly membership meeting will be held on
Tuesday, April 11th at 2 pm and 6 pm at the KTP Union Hall on Chamberlain Lane.
Please make every effort to attend one of the Union Meetings. For all new
members, who have yet to be sworn in, please come to either of the meetings so
you can formally be sworn in.
UAW V-CAP DIRECTOR’S CLUB PICKUP: If you are a member of the Region 8 V-CAP
Director’s Club, giving $5.00 or more a month, please stop by your respective
union hall to pick up your “Thank You” item(s) for participating in the
program.
PATHWAY TO SKILLED TRADES APPRENTICESHIP: Sign-ups for the 2017 IRCP Program
will be held in the Main Cafeteria from April 11thà13th during the following

2017 Family Scholarship – This summer (July 23-28), introduce your family to a
once-in-a-lifetime experience! Since 1970, thousands of UAW members and their
families have participated in the Walter and May Reuther UAW Family Education
Center Scholarship Program. Located in scenic Onaway, Michigan on Black Lake,
the Center was envisioned by legendary UAW President, Walter Reuther to be a
place where UAW members and their families could come together to learn and
relax. All active or laid off UAW members in good standing are eligible to apply
for a Family Scholarship if you have never attended the program before.
Application packets are available at both Local 862 union halls. Deadline for
submission is June 16, 2017. Info on Black Lake is available at

2017 ROUGE POWERHOUSE SCHOLARSHIP - The UAW/Ford Rouge Powerhouse Memorial
Scholarship Fund is dedicated to the memory and spirit of six brave men who died
on Feb. 1, 1999 in a tragic explosion at the Rouge Powerhouse. The program is
open to dependent children of full-time, active UAW-represented Ford hourly
employees. Student must be a high school senior or graduate that plans to enroll
for the first time in full-time undergraduate study. Student must have a minimum
3.00 GPA during their three previous semesters in high school. If selected as a
recipient, student will receive a one-time $1,000 award. Applications must be
submitted by May 1, 2017. Applications are available at either UAW Local 862
Union Hall and at www.sms.scholarshipamerica.org/rouge.
2017 KY Labor-Management Conference Board of Directors’ Scholarship: The
Kentucky Labor-Management Conference Board of Directors is pleased to announce
the award of up to $4000 in scholarship funds available to graduate,
undergraduate and/or technical program students for the Fall 2017 school term.
Eligible applicants are encouraged to apply quickly as the applications must be
postmarked no later than July 15, 2017. For more information, or to apply, go to
www.kl-mc.com and select the “Scholarship” tab.
