How are the rivet inspector jobs in body? Know the old weld jobs were pretty good but curious how the rivet jobs are. Also is both body shops one natural work group? Bid into a job in SUV and roll into super duty once freeze is off?

The joint inspector jobs in new P body are good jobs and mainly you are checking rivets versus welds that were done in the old shop. You are responsible for the hourly checks in your assigned area and possible teardown of the part to check for adhesive/sealer. Also, the one big drawback is that you have to be in your area if you should get a "suspect part" that requires the inspector to accept or reject. This can happen often or occasionally. Some areas have more problems than others. I've heard that both shops are one natural work group.

Another question worth asking, is weld inspection its own classification? So say i bump someone in p body, will it be a weld/rivet job, or just the lowest senior person in inspection?

You would bump the low man in joint inspection (rivet inspection).

Natural work group is probably better explained as 1 group 1 day and 2 groups on other days. All depends on the individual or individuals that are getting bumped. Just a guess though!!!!!
