Every year I get 2 W2 forms from Ford. Everything is the same except box 17 & 19. This is for state of Ky. Always 2 different numbers in box 17. By 2 different numbers I mean on the 1 w2 there is one number & on the 2nd W2 there is a different number. Then in box 19 there is 0 on one & a number on the other, I do my own taxes with turbo tax, have for years. I was told by someone when I started to add the 2 box 17s together & that was my state tax that was withheld. Never been a problem til this year, got my refund & was less the amount I added. Anyone have any insight? Anyone know why we get 2 & why they are different?

Don't have an answer to your question, but I used Turbo tax over the years also but this year I'm going to try Credit karma tax. It's suppose to be free unlike turbo tax. Just thought you would like to know.

One is Jefferson County, one is state (KY)

One is Jefferson County, one is state (KY) ok, you definitely dont add them together then. they are two separate entities. on turbo tax there are multiple boxes for adding multiple states and localities. |

Thanks, couldn't find multiple boxes, even turbo tax people didn't know what to do with it, I'll take to a professional next year & get them to explain. Thanks for the info

when using turbotax, when you are inputting your wages and what was withheld, there is a "+" symbol and the words "add another row". when you click that, it brings up more blank spaces to put more states and localities in. its one of those things thats really simple once you see it. i didnt have that problem, but knew people that did. we got them figured out.
