2017 SUMMER VACATION SHUTDOWN: The shutdown period is now confirmed for the week
of July 3rd, 2017.
ROUGE POWERHOUSE SCHOLARSHIP: Deadline approaching for the Rouge scholarship.
Applications must be mailed by May 1st 2017 to be considered, 54 $1000
scholarships will be awarded. Visit www.sms.scholarshipamerica.org/rouge to
download the form.
BALLOON EVENTS 4/27-4/29: Bring the family out and enjoy the glimmer, glow and
the race on April 27th thru the 29th. Glimmer is Thursday April 27th on the
Great Lawn at 7:30 pm. Glow is Friday April 28th at the Kentucky State
Fairgrounds at 7:30 pm. Balloon Race is Saturday April 29th at Bowman Field at
7:00 am.
WORKER’S MEMORIAL DAY 4/28: Please join us at the flagpole in front of the
Administration Building from 4:30 pm through 5:30 pm in prayer and remembrance
of our union Brothers and Sisters who have died in the workplace. We will also
be in prayer for the future of our plants, leadership, and the emotional and
spiritual welfare of our Brothers and Sisters.
BED RACE 5/1: UAW/Ford LAP is participating in the bed race. Come out and show
your support on Monday May 1st, at 6 pm. Bed race is held at Broadbent Arena.
MONTHLY MEMBERSHIP MEETING 5/9: The monthly membership meeting will be held on
Tuesday, May 9th, at 2 pm and 6 pm at the LAP Union Hall on Fern Valley Road.
Please make every effort to attend one of the Union Meetings. For all new
members, who have yet to be sworn in, please come to either of the meetings so
you can formally be sworn in.
WALK FOR WISHES 5/20: UAW/Ford sponsored walk. The ‘Walk’ will be held at
Kentucky Kingdom on May 20th, 2017 and starts at 10 am. This is a fundraiser but
you can also buy tickets at the Charity Corner for $25. Tickets are only good
for the day of the walk. To register for the walk or to donate log on to
www.oki.wish.org.
USB DRIVES: The Leadership will be walking through on every crew handing out the
USB drives that contain the National and Local Agreements, helpful forms, and
other useful information. Printed versions of the National Agreement are also
available in the Union Office in the plant.
LOCAL IMPROVEMENTS: The Local Agreement’s negotiated improvements are taking
place in several bathrooms. This will continue over the next few weeks. Several
floors have been refurbished over Easter Break. Soon you will see new lighting,
paint, and new stalls as needed.
BENEFITS MAGNETS: Benefits magnets are available in the Union Office, Charity
Corner Store and at the LAP Union Hall.
Magnets contain important numbers and websites.
WEIGHT WATCHERS: Do you want to be ready for the beach? Well here is a great way
to shed a few pounds at a huge discount for Ford employee/UAW members using your
ETAP PDA approved funds. You can sign up for INPLANT Weight Watcher classes!!
That’s right we bring them to you. The normal cost of a 12 week course is $132
but your cost is only $25 with approved PDA funds. Sign-ups begin April 17th and
go until May 1st with classes starting May 8th. To sign up simply contact your
ESSP rep on your shift or call Jeff Hale at 502-364-3687and leave a message with
a good contact number and a good time to call.

$300 voucher to use on the Arrow website. Ordering instructions are on the back

the 2016 calendar year on 3/27. If you believe you qualify please stop by the

Kentucky Labor-Management Conference Board of Directors is pleased to announce
the award of up to $4000 in scholarship funds available to graduate,
undergraduate and/or technical program students for the Fall 2017 school term.
Eligible applicants are encouraged to apply quickly as the applications must be
postmarked no later than July 15, 2017. For more information, or to apply, go to
