I think the op is one of the Mexican guys who troll this, and likely other sites. Anyhow, this story is talking about salary people. We all know there's too many of them anyway. It also says NO cuts to production or the hourly workforce are planned.

The rumor I heard today: C-Crew gone in January. KTP Employees with 28 years or more allowed to take early retirement with a SUBSTANTIAL retirement bonus (a lot more than the $70,000 retirement bonus offered at the end of the last contract). Employees with between 25 and 28 years allowed to take early retirement but no bonus.
Keep in mind that retirement means VEBA until one qualifies for Medicare at age 65.

Do we have very many people with 28+ years? I don't think many 1993 hires would retire without more incentive.

Well most '93 guys didn't hire in until after April so in January of next year not a single one of them will even have 25 years so I think this rumor is just that, a rumor. I think you would probably see something more like 28yrs and more guys getting 40 hour paychecks while sitting at home until they get their 30 like was done previously. Doubt many would walk without some sort cash payment. Just my opinion. stay safe people.

Since LAP and KTP are the same local and in the same town send some of those buyout offers to our plant and we'll free up a few jobs for your low seniority people to take!

Do we have very many people with 28+ years? I don't think many 1993 hires would retire without more incentive. 173 hourly employees at KTP will have 28 years or more seniority by the end of the year. Another 192 will have between 25 and 28 years of seniority. The bonus I heard was $120,000.

Ford gets the buyout money from the pension fund.if the pension isn't currently overfunded there won't be any buyouts.i have no idea if it's overfunded or not.

Off topic but is there a way to see a complete seniority list or even a seniority list by department without going thru my committeeman?

Type in {plant seniority list} in the search box on the KTP homepage.

A guy walks into the Labor Relations Office and asks for the phone number to notify the company that he wants to retire on the first of next month.
The Labor rep sez, "You might want to wait until December. We are hearing things...."

I get my 30 in 11.5 years. But will probably wait for the 2031 contract and hope for a lucrative buyout.
