Of course, the union was in favor of Obama Care. Said the plants in the US couldn't compete with plants overseas because they had universal health care. If they paid their CEO's the same as CEO's overseas they could compete then. Obamacare made a fool out of the unions.

I agree 100%. If you constantly bash one side, then they take over they will not help you while their in charge.

One side represents the interest of anti-union groups like the Chamber of Commerce, passes right to work laws, stacks the courts with pro-corporate judges, weakens labor protections at the state and federal level and fights against any and all legislation that might make organizing easier.
So, sure, lets stay out of the whole mess....

We desperately need to organize a foreign owned plant in the US, otherwise the percentage of people doing the work we do that are union will continue to drop. The downward pressure on our pay and benefits will just get worse and worse.
The UAW thought they had the VW election won, the German headquarters, at the behest of the German union, didn't even put up a fight.
Then at the last minute the Republican Governor and other Republican elected officials started issuing threats to the workers and community.
The UAW lost by less than 100 votes.
They want to destroy unions, they spend millions and millions of dollars to do it. And its working.

The Trans Pacific Partnership rammed through by none other than Barack Obama would have finished off what little bit of American manufacturing there is left after so much had already left thanks to policies of the Clinton administration. The effects of these policies didn't bare fruit until Clinton was long gone so most people don't make the connection. Same with the housing crisis of 2007-08. It was a direct result of the elimination of the Glass Steagall Act by the Clinton administration. My point is neither party is labor friendly. They all look down upon us as serfs and would love to replace everyone of us with a robot. The biggest threat to either party is a unified populous. Their goal is to divide us all by any means necessary so that they can remain in power. The union leadership falls right in line with this division tactic as far as I'm concerned by picking sides no matter what the topic. It's supposed to be about unifying people not dividing them among party lines.

Those threats are real. Those jobs will move if the UAW gets in.

Notice we lost and we still aren't communist. We were there to protect France, who basically had Vietnam as a slave labor colony.thats why the communists revolted in the first place. It was in Vietnam that the US govt saw what was possible by using cheap foreign labor. Global economy and free trade is a lie. Many products once were made in Germany and Japan until their wages actually raised higher than ours. Then companies moved to the pacific rim, where they could keep the workers standard of living from rising very much at all in the first place. It's not an accident,it's a fraud, and both parties are complicit in it.

Of course unions should butt out of politics. As should corporations. Only actual individual human beings should be allowed to contribute monetarily to political campaigns.
But the Supreme Court of the United States of America decided corporations are people. So that ends the debate until they change their minds.

Our dues paid for women to dress like vagina's and protest in DC. I think politics and religion should be an individuals right and not forced upon by any union, corporation, ect.
